  • Publication number: 20240076093
Abstract: A system and a method for a cup for retaining a liquid. The cup includes a base and a wall. The base and the wall define a container with a space to retain the liquid. A first closure flap and a second closure flap are attached to the wall and extend from the wall. The first closure flap and the second closure flap are foldable relative to the wall. The first closure flap and the second closure flap are foldable between an open position and a closed position. The first closure flap and the second closure flap define a lid when in the closed position. The lid is defined by the first closure flap being folded at least twice to a closed position and the second closure flap being folded at least once to a closed position.

  • Publication number: 20230180726
Abstract: An insect sorting device, machine, and use thereof, which improves sorting efficacy by prompting the insects to cling onto the belt, comprising a belt conveyor (2) having an upper surface (5) and a lower surface (6) formed by the belt (3) of the conveyor (2). When the belt (3) is turned over to pass onto the lower surface (6) of the conveyor (2) all or some of the insects of a mixture remain attached to the belt (3) while the rest of the mixture falls by gravity. The upper surface (5) of the conveyor (2) being substantially flat and horizontal over a majority of its length between the first end (7) and the second end (8), it comprises an end portion (14), adjacent the second end (8), having a downward inclination, comprised between 20° and 90° relative to the rest of the upper surface (5) of the conveyor (2).

  • Patent number: 9924424
Abstract: An integrated radio communication system with ordered hierarchical cellular coverage comprises a first system and a second system, the coverage of the second system covered by the coverage of the first system, and a set of dual-mode terminals that can selectively use the first system or the second system. The first and second systems are configured to simultaneously share a common portion Bc of a first band B1 of frequencies respectively on a first uplink and a second uplink, and respectively manage first transmission resources and corresponding second transmission resources. The second radio communication system of lower level N2 is free to manage its second transmission resources without any coordination constraint with respect to the first system of higher level N1, whereas the first system of higher level is configured to not disturb the second system in the common frequency band portion.

  • Publication number: 20040235419
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for reducing mutual interference of a digital data transmission or broadcast from a satellite to terrestrial receivers and terrestrial network links using sub-bands each of specific and narrow frequency, belonging to an extended band, the sub-bands being assigned to different terrestrial zones wherein the links are provided. Therefor, the information from the satellite is converted in the form of digital symbols and the digital symbols are distributed over several carriers belonging to a group of carriers distributed in a channel assembly covering at least four of the frequency sub-bands, by spread spectrum.

  • Publication number: 20030073404
Abstract: A communication system includes a set of non-geostationary satellites setting up communication links between ground stations and terminals, the links from a station terminating at associated terminals in a limited geographical area including the station. A communication link between a particular station and the associated terminals is set up by a satellite of the set of satellites. The satellite is commanded to set up for this purpose a steerable transmit beam and a steerable receive beam pointing at the limited area including the particular station and supporting the communication link.

  • Patent number: 5881367
Abstract: In a telecommunication network, the power of a first signal transmitted via a satellite by a first station to be received in the form of a second signal by a second station is regulated. At a given time, a value representative of a signal-to-noise ratio of the second signal is predicted for a later time, and, at an intermediate time, the power of the first signal is regulated in the first station as a function of the predicted value. The intermediate time precedes the later time by a time period substantially equal to the propagation time between the first and second stations.

  • Patent number: 5828947
Abstract: The invention provides a method of regulating the power of transmission between first and second stations in a multiple satellite visibility satellite telecommunication network. The method comprises the following cyclic steps: regulation, for each of said N channels, of an isolated transmit power level command signal such that when it commands the power at which the first station transmits the first isolated signal in each channel the quality level of the corresponding isolated second signal received by the second station is equal to a reference quality level, and regulation, for all of the N channels, of N combined transmit power level command signals such that when they command the levels at which the first station respectively transmits the N first combined signals on the N channels the quality level of the global signal received formed from the N combined second signals is equal to the reference quality level.
