  • Patent number: 11145168
Abstract: A gaming system offers players the opportunity to play a skill-based challenge and bettors to place wagers based on events or outcomes in the skill-based challenge. A gaming system includes a processor, a display device, an input device and a memory device storing a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to operate with the display device and the input device, for a play of a wagering game, to perform operations. Operations include receiving, from a bettor, a wager that corresponds to a selected player of a plurality of players in a skill-based challenge, determining that the selected player has achieved a threshold outcome in the skill-based challenge, awarding a bettor monetary prize to the bettor in response to the selected player achieving the threshold outcome in the skill-based game, and awarding a player monetary prize to the selected player.

  • Patent number: 10424162
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a gaming system and method providing a gaming tournament with a dynamic equalizer feature. In various embodiments, responsive to the dynamic equalizer feature being triggered, the gaming system may select a player who is not performing well in the tournament and provide that player enough tournament points to bring that player back into contention in the tournament. The dynamic equalizer feature provides a way to compensate for the inherent variability of tournament play—i.e., some players by chance accumulating more tournament points than others during the same time period—so players with low tournament point balances always feel like they have a chance to win the tournament regardless of their bad luck during tournament game play. This ensures that at all players remain engaged and entertained throughout the duration of the tournament.

  • Patent number: 10403092
Abstract: The gaming systems and methods of the present disclosure improve gaming technology by providing a wagering game having a multi-mode bonus game with multiple triggerable award generators. Generally, when a bonus triggering event occurs in various embodiments, the gaming system randomly determines whether to provide a play of the bonus game in one of multiple different modes, such as a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, the play of the bonus game includes only one activation of only one award generator, such as the most lucrative one. In the second mode, the play of the bonus game includes an initial activation of a different award generator, such as the least lucrative one, and may include additional activations of additional award generators depending on the result(s) of the activation(s) of the award generator(s).
