  • Publication number: 20230054937
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system, apparatus and method directed to automated adjustment of a positioning of a drainage bag based on at least an amount of tension within a tubing extending from the drainage bag. The system, apparatus and method pertain to an automated drainage bag actuation system that includes at least a first railing, a control box coupled to the first railing and configured to receive mounting fasteners that couple a drainage bag to the control box, the control box including a tension load cell sensor, a first motor, and circuitry electrically coupled to the first motor and the tension load cell sensor. The circuitry is configured to receive data from the tension load cell sensor indicating an amount of tension in tubing extending from the drainage bag and transmit one or more electrical signals to activate the first motor causing adjustment of a positioning of the drainage bag.

  • Publication number: 20230058911
Abstract: A urinary-catheter package (100) includes a container (120) including a urinary catheter (110) and a lubricant (140). The urinary catheter includes a catheter tube (112) and a drainage lumen extending through the urinary catheter, the drainage lumen fluidly coupling a plurality of eyelets in a distal-end portion of the catheter tube with an opening in a proximal end of the urinary catheter. The container includes a catheter section (122), a lubricant section (124) in a distal-end portion of the container, and a separator (126) between the catheter section and the lubricant section. The catheter section is configured to hold the urinary catheter, and the lubricant section is configured to hold the lubricant. The separator is configured to separate the lubricant in the lubricant section from the urinary catheter in the catheter section until the separator is broken by a user.

  • Publication number: 20230030637
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a drainage system for draining a fluid from a patient where the system includes a drainage tube that provides fluid communication between a catheter and a collection container. The drainage tube includes a port and a balloon attached to an interior of the drainage tube, where the balloon is configured to receive air from a needle that has pierced the port and occlude a lumen of the drainage tube. When in an inflated state, the balloon occludes the lumen of the drainage tube thereby breaking the fluid communication between the catheter and the collection container and preventing the output airflow device from drawing airflow out of the catheter. The balloon may be attached to the interior of the drainage tube by surrounding an interior side of the port.

  • Publication number: 20220362536
Abstract: A drainage liquid sampling system is disclosed and includes a connector couplable with a drainage tube of a drainage system, the connector defining an inlet port, an outlet port, and a sample port, where the inlet port, the outlet port, and the sample port are in fluid communication with each other, and a sample container couplable with the sample port. A valve within the connector selectively allows and prevents flow of drainage liquid into the sample container. A cap couplable to the sample container also includes a valve. A system for draining liquid from a patient includes the drainage liquid sampling system.
