  • Publication number: 20110008629
Abstract: A laminated panel comprises at least one facer comprising a coating applied to a facer sheet to provide a coated facer surface, and a thermosetting plastic foam firmly adhered to the coated facer surface. In an example, non-limiting embodiment, the facer sheet comprises a nonwoven glass mat; the coating comprises a coating mixture comprising a mineral pigment and a dried latex; and the thermosetting plastic foam is comprised of an insulation material selected from the group consisting of polyurethane modified polyisocyanurate foam, polyurethane foam, and phenolic-formaldehyde foam. In an example variation, the nonwoven glass mat has the coating applied to two opposing flat surfaces thereof.

  • Publication number: 20100047292
Abstract: A method for processing multi-phasic dispersions is provided. The method comprises providing a multi-phasic dispersion including dispersed and continuous phases, positioning the multi-phasic dispersion within a chamber capable of being pressurized, pressurizing the chamber with a first gas to a pressure less than the supercritical pressure of the gas, and contacting the multi-phasic dispersion with the first gas.

  • Patent number: 7566704
Abstract: The invention pertains to compositions and therapeutic and prophylatic methods for treating/preventing infections in an animal or human by administering a soluble ?-glucan composition comprising ?-glucan molecules having an average molecular weight of at least 1,000,000 daltons, as determined by multi-angle laser light scattering (VHMW-glucan).

  • Patent number: 7415806
Abstract: A modular ballistic abatement barrier system (10) includes a first corrugated panel (12) having at least one aperture (13), a second corrugated panel (16) having at least one aperture (17), and a ballistic cloth (14) placed between the first corrugated panel and the second corrugated panel. The ballistic cloth can also include at least one aperture (15). The first corrugated panel and the second corrugated panel are coupled using at least one among a mechanical bond and a chemical bond. For example, the ballistic cloth can be laminated between the first corrugated panel and the second corrugated panel to form a multi-layered panel. Alternatively, the first corrugated panel, the ballistic cloth, and the second corrugated panel can be coupled together using a fastener that compresses the ballistic cloth between the first corrugated panel and the second corrugated panel.

  • Patent number: 7237152
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a fail-operational global time reference for a synchronous redundant data bus including multiple pluralities of timing servers cross-coupled between a plurality of buses in said redundant synchronous data bus system, the apparatus comprising each said timing server of the multiple pluralities of timing servers configured to transmit, receive, and monitor synchronization signals, to store a unique constant, and to independently and automatically select as timing master one or more timing servers from among the multiple pluralities of timing servers based on said synchronization signals received from one or more of said timing servers of said multiple pluralities of timing servers and further based upon a relationship among said unique constants stored in each timing server. Methods comprising selection protocols are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070063911
Abstract: A cellular communications antenna including sensors for determining position and/or orientation of the antenna. Position information may be obtained using, for example, a GPS receiver or by triangulation. Orientation information may be obtained using, for example, an electronic compass and/or gyroscope and/or an inclinometer. Position and/or orientation information may be utilised locally to control attributes of the antenna or may be communicated to a central controller which may control attributes of the antenna. Signals may be sent to a central controller to indicate that an attribute of the antenna is outside a desired range.

  • Patent number: 7185834
Abstract: A mobile pressure washer wand support with a dolly-like wheeled base with a cut out slot for securely holding the pressure washer wand in place. This allows the user to have the weight of the pressure washer hose alleviated to reduce fatigue and backache. The user can place the pressure washer wand in the adjustable wand slot, tighten clamps to hold the wand in place, and simply point it in the direction that is desired to be sprayed.

  • Patent number: 7182296
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for more reliably transferring operational control for various aircraft flight control surfaces from a first sub-system to a second sub-system. The present invention provides an Actuator Control Electronics (ACE) wrap-back module that monitors the output of the normal mode control module and switches control to the direct control module based upon the detection of an error condition. The switching function is controlled by a monitoring system that monitors the output from an integrated heartbeat module that emits a pre-programmed signal. The pre-programmed signal is encoded and sent over a communication bus where it is then decoded and validated by comparing the decoded signal to the expected results. Any irregularity in the heartbeat signal automatically triggers a change of control from the first flight control sub-system to the second flight control sub-system.
