  • Publication number: 20220342969
Abstract: Controlling access to a stationary exercise machine. In one aspect of the disclosure, a method may include establishing one or more authorized users of a stationary exercise machine having one or more moveable members, automatically locking the one or more moveable members of the stationary exercise machine, and receiving a request to perform a workout on the stationary exercise machine. In response to the receiving of the request to perform the workout on the stationary exercise machine, the method may include automatically determining whether any of the one or more authorized users is proximate to the stationary exercise machine. In response to automatically determining that one of the one or more authorized users is proximate to the stationary exercise machine, the method may include automatically unlocking the one or more moveable members of the stationary exercise machine to enable the workout to be performed on the stationary exercise machine.

  • Publication number: 20210299518
Abstract: Flagging irregularities in user performance in an exercise machine system. In one aspect of the disclosure, a method may include receiving first performance parameters of a first user associated with a first exercise machine that is executing a video workout program to enable the first user to perform a workout on the first exercise machine. The method may also include detecting an irregularity in the first performance parameters that indicates a performance of the workout by the first user is different than expected. The method may further include, in response to the detecting of the irregularity, displaying a visually discernable indication with a first performance indicator of the first user to visually indicate the irregularity.

  • Patent number: 9586090
Abstract: In an exercise system having a remote communication system adapted to communicate with an exercise device, a method for generating an exercise program includes receiving route information identifying a route traveled by an individual during a real world exercise session, receiving audio information identifying a musical selection listened to by the individual during the real world exercise session, using the route information and the audio information to generate an exercise program. The exercise program includes control signals that cause an exercise device to substantially simulate the topographical characteristics of the route traveled by the individual during the real world exercise session, and audio signals representative of the musical selection listened to by the individual during the real world exercise session so that the musical selection is presented during a performance of the exercise program.
