    Abstract: An integrated system and method to acquire the health state of a structure identifying the presence of damage, and to self-repair the damage in the considered structure. A sensor network installed in the structure is interrogated by a dedicated hardware for damage detection. In case of damage is detected by the sensor network in the structure, the sensor network is triggered and generates harmonic excitation in the structure. Due to the excitation, the natural frequency of vascular microtubes and/or capsules presented in the structure is reached, promoting their disruption.     Abstract: The present invention provides an antimicrobial peptide polymer comprising at least one monomer which is digested by pepsin, a multimeric antimicrobial peptide complex comprising the polymer and a cell surface anchoring motif linked to the polymer, an antimicrobial microorganism displaying the multimeric antimicrobial peptide complex, an antimicrobial composition comprising the same, a method of treating an infectious disease caused by bacteria, yeast or fungi by administering the antimicrobial composition, and a method for producing the antimicrobial microorganism. According to the invention, living microorganisms displaying an antimicrobial peptide on the cell surface thereof may be administered in vivo without having to lyse the microbial cell and isolate and purify the antimicrobial peptide, so that the antimicrobial peptide exhibits antimicrobial activity. Thus, the antimicrobial peptide may be produced at significantly reduced costs so that it may have widespread use.

    Abstract: The described embodiments of mechanisms of forming a package on package (PoP) structure involve bonding with connectors with non-solder metal balls to a packaging substrate. The non-solder metal balls may include a solder coating layer. The connectors with non-solder metal balls can maintain substantially the shape of the connectors and control the height of the bonding structures between upper and lower packages. The connectors with non-solder metal balls are also less likely to result in bridging between connectors or disconnection (or cold joint) of bonded connectors. As a result, the pitch of the connectors with non-solder metal balls can be kept small.

    Abstract: Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus and method to form a pattern of solder bumps. A solder paste is applied a plate comprising a pattern of holes, where each hole is partially filled by a piston attached to a movable stage. The remainder of the holes are filled by applying a force to the solder paste with a first solder paste application tool. A second solder paste application tool then removes excess paste from the front surface of the plate. The solder paste is then disposed onto a surface of a substrate by moving the movable stage, which fills a larger portion of each hole with a piston, forces the solder paste out of each hole, and forms pattern of solder paste on the surface of the substrate. The pattern of solder paste is then subjected to additional processing to form a pattern of solder bumps.
