    Abstract: The present invention provides a manufacturing method for a microdisplay. After providing a wafer with a plurality of pixel structures on the front side, trenches with a pattern are formed on the backside of the wafer. A transparent plate is disposed above the front side of the wafer and a sealant is applied to join the wafer and the transparent plate. After cutting the wafer and the transparent plate into display cells of suitable sizes, liquid crystal is then introduced in-between the sealant of the display cells.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a color filter array is provided. The manufacturing method is as follows. Step (a), form a patterned first photoresist layer over a substrate. The patterned first photoresist layer has a plurality of openings that exposes a portion of the substrate. Step (b), form a filter material layer on the exposed area of the substrate. Step (c), form a second photoresist layer on the filter material layer. Step (d), remove the first and the second photoresist layer such that the filter material layer forms a plurality of first filter films. Step (e), repeat step (a) to (c) at least once and remove the first and the second photoresist layer to form a plurality of second filter films in areas except the first color filter films. The aforementioned method of forming the color filter array can form filter films having perpendicular sidewalls on the substrate.

By employing the second rolling apparatus along with the first rolling apparatus, the rubbing process includes an extra conditioning step for conditioning the first rolling apparatus, thus shortening the production cycle time and increasing the throughput.

    Abstract: An optical projection system comprising a light source, a beam splitter module, a plurality of spatial light modulators, an optical combiner module and a projection lens is provided. The light source is used for providing a first white light. The beam splitter module is disposed in the light path of the first white light to separate the first white light into a plurality of second white lights. The spatial light modulators are disposed in the light paths of the second white lights respectively. Each spatial light modulator comprises a color filter to modulate each second white light into a color light carrying with corresponding color image signal. The optical combiner module is disposed in the light paths of the color lights to combine the color lights. The projection lens is disposed in the light path of the combined color lights after the optical combiner module to project the combined color light to be an image.

    Abstract: A reflective type liquid crystal micro display panel is provided. The display panel comprises, an active component array substrate, a pixel electrode layer, an opposite substrate, a common electrode layer, two inorganic alignment films and a negative dielectric anisotropic liquid crystal layer. The pixel electrode layer is disposed over the active component array substrate. The opposite substrate is opposite to the active component array substrate. The common electrode layer is disposed over the opposite substrate. The two inorganic alignment films are disposed over the pixel electrode layer and the common electrode layer respectively. The negative dielectric anisotropic liquid crystal layer is disposed between the two inorganic alignment films, and is aligned parallel to the inorganic alignment films. The reflective type liquid crystal micro display panel has the advantages of low cost and high performance of display.

    Abstract: A frame attaching process is described. The frame attaching process is adapted for attaching a transparent substrate to an active area of a chip using a frame, wherein the active area of the chip has a functional area. In the frame attaching process, the frame can be formed on the attaching surface of the transparent substrate or on the active area of the chip. Then, the attaching surface of the transparent substrate is attached to the active area of the chip using the frame under a negative pressure. Finally, the frame is solidified. Therefore, in the frame attaching process, the possibility of frame cracking can be reduced and the yield of the frame attaching process can be improved.
