    Abstract: A crosslinkable rubber composition comprising:—natural rubber or a rubber blend comprising natural rubber and 0-25 wt % EPDM,—elemental sulfur—one or more sulfur cure accelerators or sulfur donors, and—at least one organic peroxide with a 10 hour half-life in monochlorobenzene at a temperature in the range 95-145?C, wherein the weight ratio of the total amount of sulfur cure accelerators and sulfur donors relative to the amount of elemental sulfur is not higher than 2.5, and wherein the composition is substantially free of non-diene rubber.
