Abstract: A telepresence method includes capturing video at a source location, the videos including a subject within their respective points of view. The method further includes determining a viewpoint of a remote user at a remote location other than the source location, creating a synthetic video from the captured video, with the synthetic video corresponding to the determined viewpoint of the remote user, and displaying the synthetic video of the subject to the remote user.

Abstract: A head mounted display system with video-see-through (VST) is taught. The system and method process video images captured by at least two forward facing video cameras mounted to the headset to produce generated images whose viewpoints correspond to the viewpoint of the user if the user was not wearing the display system. By generating VST images which have viewpoints corresponding to the user's viewpoint, errors in sizing, distances and positions of objects in the VST images are prevented.

Abstract: A message transmission system, a message transmission server, a user terminal apparatus, a method for transmitting a message, and a method for receiving a message are provided. The message transmission system includes a message transmission server configured to select a channel server to broadcast an input message, based on the input message, and transmit the input message; and a selected channel server configured to receive the message transmitted by the message transmission server, and broadcast the transmitted message to a terminal apparatus.

Abstract: Provided is a service access control system using an embedded browser agent. The service access control system includes: a server providing an Internet protocol service; and a browser agent including device information and service information and controlling the access of a device to the server. When the service access control system is used, device dependence can be minimized in an embedded browser-based IPTV service, and the IPTV service can be freely used by utilizing only a browser.

Abstract: A cloud computing method and a computing apparatus and server using the same are provided. The cloud computing method includes a server generating a virtual disc for executing one or more applications when a computing apparatus is connected to the server, requesting execution of an application included in the virtual disc, and downloading and executing an execution file corresponding to the requested application. Therefore, it is possible for a user to remove time delay caused in a downloading and executing process when an application is initially executed.

Abstract: A semantic client, a semantic information management server, a method of generating semantic information, a method of searching semantic information, and a computer program recording medium for performing the methods, the semantic client including: an identification (ID) generator to generate an ID of a target content; and a descriptor generator to generate a descriptor that defines correlations between the target content and one or more other contents. Furthermore, the semantic information management server includes: a semantic information database (DB) to store a descriptor including information about an ID of contents and correlations among the contents and other contents related to the contents; and an agent to search semantic information of the related contents with reference to the semantic information DB. Therefore, since contents have their own IDs, a user can easily search the contents.

Abstract: An apparatus for automatically configuring an album includes an album-creating unit to create an album by using a folder name when at least one folder having the folder name is moved to a selected area, a cover-image-registering unit to register a cover image of the album created by the album-creating unit, and a content-registering unit to register content included in the folder to the album.

Abstract: A program-based electronic program guide (EPG) system is provided, the EPG system including a search unit which searches for and finds programs broadcast within a predetermined time period around a predetermined time, a collection unit which collects program information of programs found by the search unit, a classification unit which classifies the program information collected by the collection unit based on program codes, and a display unit which displays program guide information, including the program information classified by the classification unit.

Abstract: A method of displaying an image of a display apparatus which receives multimedia data from a server apparatus, and provides streaming service is provided. The method includes receiving a plurality of portions of multimedia data divided into a plurality of screen regions from the server apparatus, decoding the plurality of portions of received multimedia data, and displaying the plurality of portions of decoded multimedia data in one screen. The plurality of portions of multimedia data divided into the plurality of screen regions are compressed with different compression rates.

Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus for providing additional information by using an extension subtitle file including an inverse multiplexing unit to separate video and audio data from a multimedia file input by a data input unit, an XML parser to parse a caption data file and an additional information data file input by the data input unit, video and audio data processing units to decode the video and audio data input by the inverse multiplexing unit, and convert the decoded video and audio data into predetermined video and audio signals, a caption processing unit to process the caption data parsed and input by the XML parser, an additional information data processing unit to process the additional information data file parsed and input by the XML parser, and to generate user interface information based on the processed additional information, and a data output unit to display the processed video, audio, caption and user interface information.

Abstract: A call setup method and terminal in an IP network, in which in response to a request for an outbound call from a first terminal, it is identified whether or not an index matching an identification of a second terminal exists in a matching table. The identification of the second terminal is inputted at the request for the outbound call. If the index matching the identification of the second terminal exists in the matching table, a call initialization message is directly transmitted to the second terminal. In response to call setup, a call state synchronization message is transmitted to a call manager.

Abstract: A portable storage device, a system, and a method for an automatic software installation, the portable storage device including: an interface to connect to an external device to transmit and/or to receive data to/from the external device; a memory to store a setup program to install, in the external device, a main software required to connect the portable storage device to the external device; and a controller to control the interface to transmit the setup program to the external device when the interface is connected to the external device, wherein the setup program is transmitted to the external device and automatically run in the external device. Accordingly, when the portable storage device is connected to the external device, the software can be automatically installed by auto-running the setup program internally stored to the portable storage device.

Abstract: A voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) gateway includes a foreign exchange office (FXO), a foreign exchange station (FXS), and a VoIP processor. A controller of the VoIP gateway sets the VoIP gateway to either a TANDEM (trunk and ENM (ear and mouth)) mode or a standalone mode. In the TANDEM mode, the VoIP gateway transmits an incoming call from the VoIP processor to the FXO and an outgoing call from the FXS to the VoIP processor. In the standalone mode, the VoIP gateway transmits the incoming call from the VoIP processor to the FXS and the outgoing call from the FXS to the VoIP.

Abstract: A system and method to change codec information to provide a coloring service in a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) terminal uses different compression methods depending on a calling state and a call connecting state between the VoIP terminals so that a more efficient coloring service is provided. The system for changing codec information includes a gateway adapted to compress ring back tone data in a calling state and to compress voice signal data in a call connecting state between communication terminals according to preset different compression information and to transmit both data to a receiving terminal.

Abstract: A method and system to rout a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) call based on a service class of a subscriber enables efficient utilization of bandwidth by providing service corresponding to the subscriber service class, while enabling use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) which provides security to a VoIP service.

Abstract: In a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) terminal supporting an optimal intercom service and a session connecting method thereof, a VoIP terminal announcement module of the VoIP terminal performs an announcement process by transmitting address information of the VoIP terminal to other terminals located in a same network, and acquires address information of said other terminals. If the address information acquired by the VoIP terminal announcement module includes information of a counterpart terminal called by a user, a call controller sends a session connecting invite message directly to said counterpart terminal using the acquired address information of the counterpart terminal. As a result, it is possible to provide intercom service to a user without going through an external SIP proxy server.
