  • Patent number: 8456465
Abstract: A display apparatus is disclosed. The display apparatus includes a display panel that displays at least one of a two dimensional (2D) image and a three dimensional (3D) image, and a driver that is driven so as to display an image on the display panel. The driver includes a 3D image conversion unit that converts the 3D image into a protective image if a length of a period during which the 3D image is displayed on the display panel is longer than a length of a first period.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 2, 2008
Date of Patent: June 4, 2013
    Assignee: LG Electronics Inc.
Inventors: Seonghak Moon, Daejin Myoung, Byungsoo Song, Namjin Kim
  • Publication number: 20110096057
Abstract: A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel that displays a left eye image and a right eye image before and after a crosstalk prevention period during a frame, a first driver that supplies a data signal for the left eye image and the right eye image to the plasma display panel, and a second driver that supplies a sustain signal to discharge cells of the plasma display panel selected by the supply of the data signal.

  • Publication number: 20090295688
Abstract: A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The method includes assigning a predetermined number of sustain signals to each of subfields constituting a frame depending on weight values of the subfields, selecting some of combinations of the subfields, actually measuring a luminance of light emitted by the plasma display apparatus during a frame comprised of the selected subfield combination, normalizing a luminance corresponding to each subfield combination depending on the actually measured highest luminance to calculate a reference normalized gray level, and calculating an intermediate gray level between the reference normalized gray levels.

  • Patent number: 6876343
Abstract: Method for driving a plasma display panel, wherein a pulse of ramp-down waveform is applied to scan electrode lines between a sustain period of a last selective write sub-field and an address period of a first selective erase sub-field continuous thereto, or between the sustain period of a preceding selective erase sub-field and the address period of a next selective erase sub-field continuous thereto after the first selective erase sub-field, whereby causing more stable address discharge at a higher sustain voltage, or a lower selective erase scan voltage.
    Type: Grant
