  • Publication number: 20040100284
Abstract: A method for detecting a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) product is provided. The method includes (a) providing at least a pair of electrodes in a PCR solution-containing vessel; (b) performing PCR; (c) producing an electric field between the electrodes; and (d) measuring a change in a dielectric property in the PCR solution. Therefore, a PCR product can be detected in real time.

  • Publication number: 20030169799
Abstract: Provided are a temperature control method and apparatus for driving a polymerize chain reaction (PCR) chip. In the temperature control apparatus, which is for a polymerize chain reaction chip, PCR chips receive electric power from the outside and generating heat to maintain a predetermined temperature and for outputting actual temperature information to the outside. electric power supply units supply electric power to the PCR chips according to input control signals, and a controller generates the control signals based on control information including pre-established control temperature and control time information and the actual temperature information supplied from the PCR chips in order to supply the control signals to the electric power supply units. In the present invention, it is possible to examine various kinds of DNA at the same time because the temperature control apparatus controls the temperatures of DNA samples at the same time.

  • Publication number: 20030085719
Abstract: A micro-electric detector for use in a micro-analysis system is provided. The micro-electric detector comprises a first substrate having a first surface, comprising at least one microchannel and at least one reservoir in fluid communication with the microchannel; a second substrate having a second surface disposed on the first surface of the first substrate; and a sensing portion comprising at least one pair of first electrodes for detection, which is disposed on the second surface of the second substrate along the microchannel, such that the first electrodes are positioned facing a bottom of the microchannel.

  • Publication number: 20030077649
Abstract: A method and sensor for detecting the binding of probes and target biomolecules by measuring a difference in the shear stress of the biomolecules bound to the surface of the sensor before and after hybridization of the target molecules to the probes, such as nucleic acids or proteins are provided. The shear stress can be measured sensitively and conveniently as an electrical signal without additional fluorescent labeling and without use of expensive additional devices.
