    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for phase calibration in a radio frequency (RF) module that constitutes a wireless communication device are provided. The apparatus and method include a test signal is emitted by a forward transmission antenna array of a first antenna array, and the emitted test signal, which is transferred by a member that covers the first and second antenna arrays, is received through a forward reception antenna array of the second antenna array. On the basis of the received test signal, a phase value is calibrated with regard to each of chain combinations formed by the first and second antenna arrays. Forward chain combinations that constitute the chain combination may be determined by a combination of forward transmission chains, which correspond to respective transmission antennas that constitute the forward transmission antenna array, and forward reception chains, which correspond to respective reception antennas that constitute the forward reception antenna array.

    Abstract: Provided are a light emitting diode (LED) in which a conductive barrier layer surrounding a reflective metal layer is defined by a protective insulating layer, and a method of manufacturing the same. A reflection pattern including a reflective metal layer and a conductive barrier layer is formed on an emission structure in which a first semiconductor layer, an active layer, and a second semiconductor layer are formed. The conductive barrier layer prevents diffusion of a reflective metal layer and extends to a protective insulating layer recessed under a photoresist pattern having an overhang structure during a forming process. Accordingly, a phenomenon where the conductive barrier layer is in contact with sidewalls of the photoresist pattern having an over-hang structure and the reflective metal layer forms points is prevented. Thus, LED modules having various shapes may be manufactured.

    Abstract: Cutting of a material, such as a textile or film, can damage the material. A tool is provided that utilizes vacuum pressure near a knife edge to increase a result of the cut. The vacuum pressure passes through a base portion of the tool that has a recessed portion effective to distribute vacuum pressure to one or more apertures extending around an insert of a core portion. The one or more apertures align with a void between the knife edge and the insert allowing for the void to transmit the vacuum pressure through the tool to the knife edge. A machine horn may then cut the material at the knife edge and couple the material with another material.

    Abstract: A neural device to which a conditioned response function is imparted and a driving method thereof are disclosed. Quantum dots and a polymer insulating layer are formed between upper and lower electrodes. Conductive filaments are formed at interfaces between the quantum dots and the polymer insulating layer. When a positive pulse, which is an unconditioned stimulus signal, is applied, the conductive filaments are formed, and a low resistance state is implemented. As the number of applications of a negative pulse, which is a conditioned stimulus signal, increases, the neural device is switched from a high resistance state to the low resistance state. Through this, the neural device having learning ability for the conditioned stimulus signal may be implemented and driven.
