  • Publication number: 20060289217
Abstract: A drive train for a motor vehicle has a drive unit arranged longitudinally at the front of the vehicle. The drive unit includes a driving engine and a transmission, the input shaft of which is connected via a starting element to the drive shaft of the driving engine, and the output shaft of which is connected for the purpose of providing a drive to a rear drive train of a drivable rear axle and/or to a front drive train of a drivable front axle, has a front output drive, i.e.

  • Patent number: 6550561
Abstract: An auxiliary chassis for a motor vehicle is formed as a generally rectangular structure for holding an engine, transmission and other equipment. The auxiliary chassis is mounted to front end structural members at a position spaced from and below the structural member forming a further impact absorbing structure.

  • Patent number: 5292290
Abstract: A transmission arrangement for motor vehicles has a planetary gear set acting as an axle step-up and reversing gear. The planet gears of the planetary gear set have two sets of teeth at different diameters. Synchronizing rings are arranged to minimize the structural space required. A housing for a following differential is connectable either with the planet gear carrier or else with a ring gear meshing with the larger planet gears by way of a sliding sleeve. The transmission has a continuously variable section preceding the planetary gearing.

  • Patent number: 5168975
Abstract: A drive arrangement for a motor vehicle has an internal combustion engine, a transmission on the output side of the engine and at least one drive axle, and an arrangement for shutting off and restarting the engine depending upon the driving condition. The transmission is a continuously variable automatic transmission and a disconnect coupling is arranged on the output side of the transmission to prevent transmission losses when the engine is turned off. An electromechanical converter capable of operation as a motor or a generator may be provided in place of a flywheel.
