Patent number: 4980907Abstract: The invention relates to a combination of a switched telecommunication network, a telepoint connected to the network and a portable radio terminal constituting part of a residential equipment or an extension to a PABX, the portable radio terminal when served by a telepoint radio transceiver instead of its residential or exchange radio transceiver uses the telepoint and the network for calling its residential base radio station or PABX and reporting serving telepoint to a location store, calls to the portable radio terminal thereafter being transferred by the residential equipment or PABX through the network to the telepoint in accordance with information in the location store, whereby the portable radio terminal or cordless telephone may be called through the network and telepoint when in proximity of a telepoint.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1989Date of Patent: December 25, 1990Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M EricssonInventors: Alex K. Raith, Bengt Y. Persson, Dag E. Akerberg

Patent number: 4764928Abstract: In a method of establishing, in the reception of messages in the form of characters sent by radio, particularly messages to personnel locators, that the latest of the received messages is identical with a previously received and stored message, there is included identifying the message with guidance from an identity code transmitted in the message. The code is either a part, i.e. a so-called block of the message or a character combination in the message. There is further included giving particular treatment to a received message with the same identity code as one already stored such as ignoring it.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1986Date of Patent: August 16, 1988Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventor: Dag E. Akerberg

Patent number: 4759022Abstract: In a method of receiving messages transmitted by radio in the form of coded characters, there is included storing a message in blocks together with error indications pertaining to the same, storing the same repeated messages in a register, and then combining a final version of the message from the blocks associated with the stored messages and containing the least number of errors. For guidance in the combination of blocks from different messages, there is an identity code inserted in each message. There are further included inserting, and searching for, characters in the messages pertaining to repetititon of the messages, the number of blocks in the messages and joining several messages into a continuous message.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1986Date of Patent: July 19, 1988Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventor: Dag E. Akerberg

Patent number: 4731812Abstract: In an installation containing at least one stationary unit (5) with a radio transmitter and a radio receiver, both with short range, and at least one, and preferably several portable, wireless telephone sets (4) with a radio transmitter and a radio receiver, both with short range, for exchanging telephone messages with one of the stationary units in the installation (1, 2, 3) the stationary units (5) are each adapted to exchange telephone calls simultaneously with more than one portable telephone set (4) on radio speech channels, adaptively selected among a plurality of radio speech channels common to all radio transmitters (9, 31) and radio receivers (10, 32).Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1986Date of Patent: March 15, 1988Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventor: Dag E. Akerberg

Patent number: 4709401Abstract: In a radio paging system wherein paging calls are initiated by a central radio station and sent over lines to subordinate radio stations for transmission to paging devices, the subordinate stations are synchronized to transmit paging messages by introducing time delays between reception of a message from the central radio station before transmission, the time delays being functions of the message transmit times via the lines to the various other stations as well as the radio propogation time between the other stations.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1986Date of Patent: November 24, 1987Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventor: Dag E. Akerberg

Patent number: 4709402Abstract: In transmission by radio of personal paging calls synchronous radio transmission from several transmitters is often used, i.e. the transmitters send on the same frequency. The characters of the call must also be sent simultaneously from the transmitters so that they shall be correctly comprehended by the receivers. A method and an apparatus are described here for synchronizing the separate transmitters (2:2, 3:16) such as to transmit on the same frequency.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 1986Date of Patent: November 24, 1987Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventor: Dag E. Akerberg

Patent number: 4682350Abstract: A method of connecting audio information between a base telephone unit which is stationary and a portable unit associated therewith, the method involving dividing the communication time for audio information into first and second periods. During each first period, transmitting audio information from one of the units to the other over a radio channel and during each second period transmitting in reverse direction. The duration of the periods is a function of which transmitter is active at a given time.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1986Date of Patent: July 21, 1987Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventor: Dag E. Akerberg

Patent number: 4628152Abstract: A method and an equipment for wireless transmission of telephone calls between a stationary unit (1) connected to a telephone set (3) at a short distance from the stationary unit provides that all pairs of units (1, 3) have access to a plurality of common duplex radio speech channels for transmission of calls, and to a common radio signalling channel for transmission of signals referring to connection and disconnection of the speech channels. The radio speech channels are assigned after adaptive channel scanning in that they are listened to before a call, and a channel selected which is idle with respect to calls. The selection of an idle channel takes place automatically with the use of radio receivers (12, 25), channel selectors (15, 28) and circuits (16, 29) incorporated in both units.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1983Date of Patent: December 9, 1986Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventor: Dag E.
