  • Patent number: 8194568
Abstract: Blocked traffic is monitored in a telecommunications network. Respective switch data is collected from each of the switches including respective routing tables and trunk performance parameters for a current time period. Final trunk groups are identified for each respective switch in response to the respective routing tables. The number of circuits within each final trunk group is determined. The total usage of each of the final trunk groups is determined in response to the respective trunk performance parameters. A blocking value for each of the final trunk groups is determined. A network portrayal is generated wherein each of the switches is depicted according to one of a plurality of ranges of aggregate blocking values for each respective switch. A plurality of switch portrayals is generated wherein each switch portrayal depicts each final trunk group within a respective switch according to a plurality of ranges of blocking values.

  • Patent number: 7796534
Abstract: Trunks in a telecommunications network are monitored. Out-of-service data is gathered from each respective switch corresponding to a current time period for a plurality of trunks connected to the respective switch. Switches that have at least one out-of-service trunk are detected in response to the gathered data. A first plurality of graphic elements is displayed via a web page corresponding to respective switches, wherein each switch detected as having an out-of-service trunk is displayed with a distinguishing visual characteristic. One of the first graphic elements is manually selected for a selected switch. Second graphic elements are displayed for respective trunk groups corresponding to the selected switch, each second graphic element having a respective size proportional to a current number of call attempts directed to the respective trunk group during the current time period and having a color indicative of a health index of the respective trunk group.

  • Patent number: 7508920
Abstract: Automated tests are scheduled for a telecommunication network. A time slot array is created and a subset of the time slots are marked as unavailable according to respective maintenance windows. A remainder of the time slots are marked as available. Trunk groups are sequentially selected for respectively scheduling the tests. A particular available time slot is identified in the array for both of the testing units corresponding to the respective trunk group. The slot is marked as unavailable and then each trunk circuit is sequentially selected within the respective trunk group. A respective test is designated for a selected trunk circuit during the particular time slot and a counter is incremented. A check is made whether the counter indicates that a number of the tests have been scheduled that fills a capacity of the testing units for running simultaneous tests. If the capacity is not filled, then the method repeats the designating step for a next selected trunk circuit using the particular time slot.

  • Patent number: 7395053
Abstract: A cell site maintenance scheduling and monitoring system is accessible by a maintenance user and a control center user via a public telephone network and via a private computer network. A scheduling database stores event records, wherein each event record includes a switch name, a cell site number, and an event time. An activity processor is coupled to the scheduling database for managing the scheduling database and for generating a web page displaying the event records. An IVR unit is coupled to the activity processor and coupled to the public telephone network for communicating with the maintenance user, wherein the IVR unit is responsive to the maintenance user during respective telephone calls for directing the activity processor to create a new event record and for directing the activity processor to mark existing event records as closed. The IVR unit collects the switch name, the cell site number, and the event time from the maintenance user for creating the new event record.

  • Patent number: 7236767
Abstract: A customer service system is provided for responding to a service inquiry of a customer based on customer location data within a wireless cellular network having a plurality of current cell sites. A current cell site database includes geocoded site location data for each respective current cell site and statistical performance data for each respective current cell site. A complaint database stores user entered complaint records, each of the records including respective geocoded problem location data and a respective complaint note. A monitoring engine is coupled to the current cell sites and to the current cell site database for collecting the statistical performance data and transferring it to the current cell site database. A web server provides a user interface for accessing the current cell site database and the complaint database.
