  • Patent number: 10458597
Abstract: The present invention is related to a corner panel of an LNG cargo that includes a main body, which constitutes a corner area of the cargo, and a stress diverging part, which reduces the convergence of stress of the main body by being integrated with an internal face of the main body and being formed with curvature. Therefore, by forming the corner area of the LNG cargo in a single body having a round-shaped curvature, convergence of stress caused by the deformation of the hull and thermal deformation can be prevented, and possibility of crack in a secondary barrier can be removed. By allowing the secondary barrier to be formed in a curved shape, the constructability of the secondary barrier can be greatly improved. Since no hardwood key or plywood is required, the thickness of a primary barrier can be reduced as the stress is decreased and the reliability of the secondary barrier is improved, and the weight can be greatly reduced over the conventional cargo corner area.

  • Patent number: 9257706
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a composite separator for a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell. The method comprises: preparing a prepreg as a continuous carbon fiber-reinforced composite and a graphite foil; allowing the cut prepreg and graphite foil to pass through a stacking/compression roller to be compressed; allowing the prepreg in which the graphite foil is integrally stacked to be heated and pressed by a hot press such that hydrogen, air, and coolant flow fields are formed or to pass through a hot roller to be formed into a separator; removing unnecessary portions from the heated and pressed separator using a trim cutter; and post-curing the thus formed separator, wherein the graphite foil may be stacked on the prepreg as the continuous carbon fiber-reinforced composite such that a graphite layer is integrally formed with the prepreg.

  • Patent number: 8802330
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a composite separator for a fuel cell, which can reduce the electrical contact resistance by performing an additional post-treatment to remove residual resin remaining on the surface of the composite separator by plasma etching. In certain preferred embodiments, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a composite separator for a fuel cell, in which a liquid phase resin for gasket is applied to the surface of the composite separator along a predetermined gasket pattern, or a semi-cured resin for gasket in the form of a film with a predetermined gasket pattern is stacked on the surface of the composite separator, and then plasma etching is performed to remove the residual resin and, at the same time, cure the resin for gasket, thus reducing the overall processing time to improve the productivity and preventing a composite material of the separator from being damaged.
