  • Publication number: 20040257383
Abstract: The invention aims to easily synthesize a plurality of image information data by using more various and complicated methods, with the circuit size and the manufacturing costs remaining reduced. A control unit supplies different synthesizing image information data to the first and second plane memories and supplies a superposition control information data to a superposing order control unit. Based on the address information data supplied from the address generation counter, the superposing order control unit refers to the held superposition control information data and controls operation of switch circuits. Based on the control, the first switch circuit reads and outputs the synthesis image information data from the first or second plane memory. The second switch circuit outputs an input image signal or the output from the switch circuit to the outside of the image synthesizing apparatus. The present invention is applicable to a camcorder.

  • Patent number: 6627829
Abstract: A switch device with an indicator, in which the indication resolution for the operation amount of a switch can be increased without increasing the number of light emitting elements of the indicator and with a low cost, is provided. The switch device includes an LED which emits light when the operation state of a knob of the switch corresponds to a first state and an LED which emits light when the operation state of a knob of the switch corresponds to a second state. When the operation state of the knob lies between the first and second states, at least one of the amount and color of light emission from the LEDs is changed in order to indicate an intermediate operation state of the switch.

  • Patent number: 6624368
Abstract: A switch device is provided which allows easy recognition of the operation amount of the switch device with an inexpensive structure and without the need for an operator to change the posture or the like, even when a blind spot region is generated in an indicator as a special indication region at the time of indicating the operation amount of the switch. When the special indication region on the indicator cannot be seen directly because it is blocked by a knob, the state of the indicator in the special indication region is expressed using a visible region on the indicator which is always visible. Thus, the operator can recognize the operation amount of the switch device in the blind spot region without changing the posture or the like and using a simple structure of the switch device.

  • Patent number: 5699470
Abstract: In an apparatus for processing an input video signal that includes a chrominance signal and a luminance signal, the luminance signal is frequency-modulated and the chrominance signal is subsampled, preferably by field-offset subsampling, whereupon, the subsampled chrominance signal is frequency-converted to a lower frequency band than the frequency band of the frequency-modulated luminance signal. The frequency-modulated luminance signal and the frequency-converted subsampled chrominance signal are then combined and the resulting combined signal is recorded on a recording medium such as a magnetic tape. During reproduction of the recorded signal, interpolation among frames is used to reconstruct the chrominance signal. Recording of the frequency-converted subsampled chrominance signal allows for space-efficient recording of the video signal while providing a reproduced chrominance signal that has a relatively wide bandwidth, thereby permitting improved color reproducibility.

  • Patent number: 5608531
Abstract: A video signal recording apparatus in which a chroma signal contained in a video signal is down-converted and then recorded on a predetermined recording medium comprises a sampling circuit for processing the chroma signal in an offset sub-sampling fashion, wherein the chroma signal sampled by the sampling circuit is recorded on the recording medium and a burst signal for detecting a phase of the chroma signal is not sub-sampled and then recorded on the recording medium.

  • Patent number: 5359426
Abstract: A chroma signal is emphasized then sub-sampled using a sampling offset differing by 90.degree. in four consecutive fields, then recorded on a recording medium. After reproduction from the recording medium, the phase of the reproduced chroma signal is corrected, and the phase corrected reproduced chroma signal is interpolated to increase its bandwidth and then non-linearly de-emphasized to reduce the noise contained therein. The interpolation is performed on adjacent pixels of four consecutive fields of the phase corrected reproduced chroma signal, and occurs before non-linear de-emphasis to reduce flicker.
