  • Patent number: 6540275
Abstract: The invention provides a structure of a front part of a vehicle body that is simple and free from the risk of maloperation. In the event of a collision between the vehicle and a pedestrian, a projecting part sweeps the pedestrian by parts of his or her legs lower than the knees in the event of a collision between the vehicle and the pedestrian, causing the pedestrian to be thrown over toward the vehicle, and after an energy-absorbing member has absorbed impact energy exerted on the legs, the pedestrian is caused to drop onto the top of a hood and protected from secondary damage.

  • Patent number: 6248830
Abstract: A polyolefin resin composition comprises a component A consisting of polypropylene or a propylene-ethylene block copolymer whose MFR is greater than 16 (g/10 minutes); a component B consisting of an ethylene based rubber; and a component D compatible with the component B. A ratio of summation of the propylene-ethylene copolymer part in the component A, the component B, and the component D to summation of the components A, B, and D is 25 wt. % or more and 45 wt. % or less. Further, a ratio of the blend quantity of the component D to summation of the blend quantities of the components B and D is less than 0.8. In this manner, the bending elastic modulus and the tensile breaking extension are included in a desired region, while the tensile breaking extension is improved.

  • Patent number: 5567485
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a resin composite composition containing a third component for improving the properties of the composite product, based on the knowledge that the composite function between the matrix resin and the liquid crystal is improved by addition of a compatible agent therebetween. Therefore, there is provided a thermoplastic composite composition comprising a thermoplastic matrix resin, a liquid crystal resin which has a liquid crystal transition temperature higher than a minimum temperature of the matrix resin is to be molded and an ability to be melt-extruded into a fiber in the matrix resin, characterized by further comprising a compatible agent for providing an improved bonding power with an interfacing surface between the matrix resin and the liquid crystal resin, within a range possible to prevent the liquid crystal resin into a fiber or fibers having an aspect ratio of less than 3.
