Abstract: An image processing system includes: a document storage apparatus for storing document data therein; an image processing apparatus connected to the document storage apparatus via a network, for processing the document data in association with the document storage apparatus; a first authenticator for performing user authentication at the time of an access to the document storage apparatus; a second authenticator for performing user authentication at the time of an access to the image processing apparatus; and controller for controlling, based on an authentication result by at least one of the first authenticator and the second authenticator, an authenticating operation by the other authenticator.

Abstract: A data management server that can prevent data stored in a user's folder on the server from being used by others when the user is not working, even in a client-server network environment. The data management server that manages data that can be used by multiple terminal devices, and constitutes a storage device in which separate storage areas are allocated for each user. A determination unit determines which of the terminal devices is in a state in which it is able to access the data management server. When a terminal device issues a request to access a separate storage area of the storage device, if it is determined by the determination unit that the terminal device of a user associated with the separate storage area is in a state in which it can access the data management server, an access management unit permits the requesting terminal device to access the data stored in the separate storage area.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus for outputting an image by a printer or a display is provided, in which color reproducibility in the image output of plural pages becomes uniform. The apparatus comprises an image memory for memorizing image data of all pages of one output job that is given to an output device, decision portion for deciding whether the image data of all pages are data within a color reproduction range of the output device or not. A color compression process is performed for the image data of all pages uniformly only when it is decided that the image data of all pages are not data within the color reproduction range of the output device.

The apparatus includes a color space conversion portion 110 for converting input image data D1 into data D1s of a standard color space and a reproduction range decision portion 111 for deciding whether the input image data D1s that were converted into the standard color space are within a reference range of a color reproduction in an image output. If it is decided that the input image data are out of the reference range, the calibration is performed so that the color reproduction range is made close to the reference range.

Abstract: A data communication apparatus and method are provided in which a faithful color reproduction is enabled in the reception side.
