  • Publication number: 20210129788
Abstract: A gas generator includes an elongated cylindrical housing main body and a plug which closes an axial end portion of the housing main body. The plug made of a metal includes a substantially columnar body portion, a first flange portion located on a side of a first end surface, and a second flange portion located on a side of a second end surface. An annular groove portion defined by the body portion, the first flange portion, and the second flange portion is located in a circumferential surface of the plug. A metal flow in a portion which appears in a surface layer of the circumferential surface of the plug including a surface of the annular groove portion continuously extends to reach the second end surface from the first end surface along the circumferential surface without discontinuity in the circumferential surface.

  • Publication number: 20120048137
Abstract: A cylinder-shaped gas generator includes an elongated and circular cylindrical housing, a working gas generation chamber and a filter chamber provided within the housing, and an igniter. The working gas generation chamber mainly contains a dividing member and a granular gas generating agent. The dividing member has a circular cylindrical portion, a bottom portion and a hollow portion. The granular gas generating agent is stored in the portion of the working gas generation chamber excluding the hollow portion. The bottom portion of the dividing member is configured to have a tapered shape such that its outer shape is reduced in size in accordance with a decrease in the distance from the igniter.

  • Publication number: 20120042801
Abstract: A cylinder-shaped gas generator includes a cylindrical housing, an igniter, a dividing member, and a gas generating agent. The dividing member includes a cylindrical portion, a bottom portion, a first communication hole, and a hollow portion. The gas generating agent is stored in a working gas generation chamber excluding the hollow portion. Assuming that the outer diameter of the housing is set at R1, the diameter of the working gas generation chamber is set at R2, the distance between the bottom portion and the edge of the first communication hole located closest to the bottom portion is set at L1 and the distance between the bottom portion and the end of the working gas generation chamber on the igniter side is set at L2, the conditions of 15 mm?R1?22 mm, L1?10 mm and 0.026?L2/R2?0.71 are satisfied.
