    Abstract: A gaming machine includes: a display that displays a game screen having a plurality of display areas provided with a plurality of symbol display areas; a lottery unit that performs a lottery to determine symbols to be displayed in each of the symbol display areas from among a plurality of symbols; and a controller that controls the display to display the symbols to be stopped in each of the symbol display areas after variably displaying the plurality of symbols in each of the symbol display areas, wherein when a predetermined combination of the symbols is determined by the lottery unit to be displayed in at least one of the display areas, the controller controls the display to replace the predetermined combination of the symbols into a different symbol different from the symbols in the predetermined combination after displaying the symbols determined by the lottery unit to be stopped in each of the symbol display areas.
