Abstract: A processing system for an input device comprises sensor circuitry. The sensor circuitry is configured to operate sensor electrodes for input sensing during a first sensing frame. During a first period of the first sensing frame the sensor circuitry is configured to drive a first portion of the sensor electrodes with a sensing signal, drive a second portion of the sensor electrodes with a guarding signal, and drive a third portion of the sensor electrodes with a reference signal. The guarding signal and the sensing signal have at least one characteristic in common selected from the group consisting of amplitude, phase and frequency. The third portion of the sensor electrodes overlaps a first gate line of a display panel selected for updating during the first period.

Abstract: A metal purifying method having: a local heating step of heating an aluminum-based molten metal in a first region on a molten metal surface of the aluminum-based molten metal; and a local low pressure step of lowering the pressure in a second region on the molten metal surface to a pressure lower than the pressure in the first region. The second region is different from the first region. This allows a specific element to be vaporized from the second region to purify the aluminum-based molten metal. The specific element is one or more of Zn, Mg, or Pb having a saturated vapor pressure higher than that of Al. This is effective not only in a purifying method for removing a specific element from an aluminum-based molten metal but also in a method of recovering a specific element, which can be a resource, from an aluminum-based molten metal.

Abstract: A transmission includes a transmission housing member, a ring portion, a high speed shaft, a third roller, and a third plate bearing, which rotatably supports the third roller. The transmission housing member includes a first supporting surface, which restricts the third roller to a first position, and a second supporting surface, which restricts the third roller to a second position. The third roller is moved within a movement range from the first position to the second position. The movement range includes a specified range in which the third roller is not supported, in a radial direction of the high speed shaft, by the transmission housing member with the third plate bearing in between, but is supported by being held between the ring portion and the high speed shaft.
