Abstract: Disclosed are a novel optically active compound represented by formula (1), a racemic modification thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt of the optically active compound or racemic modification thereof: ##STR1## wherein R is a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 aliphatic group which is saturated or unsaturated, or a phenyl group which is unsubstituted or substituted with 1 to 3 substituents which are each independently selected from the group consisting of a halogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, a nitro group, an amino group, a hydroxyl group and a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy group; and mark * indicates an asymmetric carbon atom.

Abstract: Disclosed are a compound represented by formula (1) and a non-toxic salt thereof, a production method thereof, and a pharmaceutical composition for treating a serotonergic neuron-related disease comprising the same as an active ingredient: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R.sup.2 represents a pyridyl group which is unsubstituted or substituted with 1 to 3 substituents each independently selected from the group consisting of a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a trifluoromethyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a carbamoyl group and a cyano group, or a pyrimidinyl group which is unsubstituted or substituted with 1 to 2 substituents each independently selected from the group consisting of a lower alkyl group and a lower alkoxy group; and n is an integer of from 2 to 5.

Abstract: Described herein are pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid derivatives represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 individually mean a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, R.sub.3 denotes an azabicyclo group containing a tertiary nitrogen atom, and Y stands for --O-- or --NH--, or salts thereof. Their preparation process and serotonin receptor antagonists containing them as active ingredients are also described.

Abstract: A compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein Q is --CO-- or --CH.sub.2 --, R is hydroxyl, lower alkoxy, halogen, --NH-lower alkylene-OH, --NH-lower alkylene-arylthio, --NH-lower alkylene-halogen, ##STR2## is dilower alkylamino, cycloalkylamino, morpholino, ##STR3## in which R.sub.9 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or aryl, R.sub.10 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, hydroxy-lower alkyl, hydroxy-lower alkoxy-lower alkyl or di(aryl)-lower alkyl, m is an integer from 4 to 6, n is 2 or 3, R.sub.1 is alkyl or aryl-lower alkyl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each lower alkyl, or together form tetramethylene, and R.sub.4 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or aryl, in which aryl is phenyl which is optionally substituted with a group selected from the group consisting of 1-3 halogen, nitro, lower alkyl and lower alkoxy, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, inhibits blood platelet aggregation, has vasodilating activity and inhibits lipoperoxide generation.

Abstract: An electronic calculating machine includes a control circuit for receiving digital calculation information recorded in an audio tape to be applied to the machine. The control circuit comprises a circuit for forming the information to pulse signals, a circuit for counting the pulse width in a time period, a circuit for comparing the pulse width with a certain value preset therein, and a display for showing the comparison results by letter information.

Abstract: An improved modulator is capable of facilitating recording and reproducing on and from an audio cassette tape digital signals such as programs and numerical data coming from digital signal processing apparatus including an electronic cash register as well as providing safety for the audio cassette tape when in operation. The modulator includes a control circuit for detecting and counting carrier signals and outputting desired information in response to a data transfer instruction and a state detector governed by the control circuit wherein the carrier signals are sent out via data transfer lines when the detector is in a specific state. The control circuit may be implemented with a microprocessor.

Abstract: A change holder is adapted for a coin dispenser incorporated into a housing of an electronic calculating machine comprising a transparent side wall. A window is provided in the housing of the electronic calculating machine, being positioned in front of the transparent side wall of the change holder, so that a certain number of coins stored in the change holder are visible from outside the electronic calculating machine. At least two kinds of railway path plates may be secured adjacent a plurality of coin shelves, respectively, so that coins dispensed from the plurality of coin-shelves are separately led to a saucer through at least one of the two kinds of railway plates.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus comprises a central processor unit (CPU) for controlling the operation of the electronic apparatus, and a dynamic random access memory (RAM). The CPU develops a refresh control signal for refreshing the memory data stored in the dynamic RAM. An additional refresh control circuit is provided outside of the CPU for developing another refresh control signal. The additional refresh control circuit is connected to receive the electric power from a backup battery included in the electronic apparatus. When the service interruption occurs, the additional refresh control circuit is enabled to maintain the memory data stored in the dynamic RAM.

Abstract: An electronic cash register comprises a control switch for allowing and prohibiting printing and issuance of a receipt according to input data introduced by input keys and a delay circuit for deferring operation of the control switch for a predetermined period of time of the actuation of the control switch. The delay circuit provides accurate control for the allowance and prohibition of receipt printing and issuing operation independently of actuation timings when the control switch is energized, thereby preventing random printing and publication of the receipt dependently on the timed relationship of actuation of the control switch.

Abstract: A power supply voltage stabilizer comprising a transformer, of which the primary winding is connected to a switching means for controlling power supply to the primary winding. An oscillator circuit is associated with the switching means in order to control on/off operation of the switching means. An abnormal overvoltage and/or overcurrent detection circuit is provided for terminating the oscillation operation of the oscillator circuit when impending overvoltage and/or overcurrent is detected.
