  • Publication number: 20090070451
Abstract: When a destination management device requests an address book of each user, a data transmission device transmits the address book to the destination management device. The destination management device stores the address book received from the data transmission device. If location information of destination information is included in the address book, the destination management device transmits the location information to the data transmission device. The data transmission device transmits the location information to an LDAP server to request the destination information. Upon receipt of the destination information, the data transmission device transmits the destination information to the destination management device.

  • Publication number: 20080291489
Abstract: After a print request is made from a personal computer to a multifunction peripheral, when a user who logs into the multifunction peripheral instructs an execution of the print request in the multifunction peripheral, the multifunction peripheral requests the personal computer to transmit image data. Then, the personal computer transmits the requested image data to the multifunction peripheral. The multifunction peripheral executes the printing using the received image data. When the printing is completed, the multifunction peripheral transmits a completion notification indicating that the printing is completed to the personal computer. When receiving the completion notification, the personal computer transmits a completion notification having the same content as the received completion notification to the multifunction peripheral.

  • Publication number: 20080162172
Abstract: In order to charge a proper amount of money to the transmitting source and the destination, an MFP accepts transmitting source specifying information for identifying a transmitting user, destination specifying information for specifying a data destination, specifying of the data, and a processing procedure defining processing executed with respect to the specified data. The MFP acquires apparatus identification information for identifying a destination apparatus corresponding to the destination and capacity information defining processing executable by the destination apparatus. The MFP then compares the processing procedure with acquired restriction information. When the processing defined by the capacity information does not include part of the processing defined by the processing procedure, the MFP charges a processing charge for the data in a divided manner to the transmitting user and the destination user.

  • Publication number: 20050044549
Abstract: When a request for compression or decompression of data for a next job is issued while processing of an current job is underway by one or more compression/decompression unit[s], the minimum processing time for the next-job data is compared with the processing wait period between pages of the current job. It is determined based on the results of this comparison whether or not compression or decompression of the next-job data is to be permitted. Based on this determination, control is carried out regarding whether or not compression or decompression of the next job by the compression/decompression unit[s] between pages of the current job is to be executed.

  • Publication number: 20050044285
Abstract: In addition to a data processing memory that processes data for an input print job, the present invention includes a mounting unit that enables mounting of an expansion memory used for data storage, as well as a detection unit that detects whether or not an expansion memory is mounted to the mounting unit. Where the job is one in which the data therefor is to be output multiple times, the controller selects the storage destination memory for the data used for output of the second copy onward in accordance with whether or not an expansion memory is mounted, and stores the data in the selected storage destination memory. The output unit reads out the data from the selected storage destination memory and performs output of the second copy onward.
