Abstract: An absorbent article using, as a surface material (or a liquid-permeable top sheet), a nonwoven fabric is disclosed, the nonwoven fabric containing at least 10% by weight of a conjugate fiber comprising first and second parts differing from each other, wherein the second part covers at least a part of the first part, at least the first part contains an inorganic component in a proportion higher than that contained in the second part, and the content of the inorganic component in the first part is at least 1.5% by weight based on the weight of the first part. The nonwoven fabric has excellent cutting properties while retaining satisfactory strength, absorbency and touch.

Abstract: A sanitary article comprises an absorbent and a sheet of a surface material to envelop the absorbent, the sheet comprising an opaque, hydrophobic film, having recesses in its land portion, the recesses being formed to have a bottom and side walls, the side walls having a slanting part, the slanting part being provided therein with an opening so that the slanting part having the opening may not be covered with the land portion.

Abstract: An absorbent article comprises a non-woven fabric comprising on a surface area thereof conjugate fibers comprising a first resin and a second resin having a melt flow rate of 10 to 50, the first resin having a higher melting point by at least 100.degree. C. than the second.

Abstract: An absorbing article comprises a surface layer to be in contact with skins containing from 60 to 100% by weight of first fibers having a hydrophilic surface and a hydrophobic inside and from 40 to 0% by weight of second fibers which are hydrophilic at least at their surface, and a rearface constituted at least with one or more layers containing from 0 to 50% by weight of said first fibers and from 100 to 50% by weight of said second fibers, in which the surface hydrophilic property, after being wetted, is higher in said second fibers than in said first fibers.

Abstract: An absorbent article comprises a non-woven fabric sheet to come in contact with the skin of a user and an absorbent layer provided under said non-woven fabric sheet, said non-woven fabric sheet comprising polyester oligomer fibers having a hydrophilic group at least on the surface side to come into contact with the skin of a user so that said surface gets hydrophilic.

Abstract: An absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin and a diaper is improved in the surface material by use of a non-woven fabric of hot-melt fibers which melts at 90.degree. to 140.degree. C. It is disposable.
