  • Publication number: 20150077694
Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display panel in which both the prevention of low-temperature bubble defects and the prevention of unevenness in brightness by pressure can be achieved without the need of forming multiple types of spacers differing in the height. In a liquid crystal display panel comprising a plurality of spacers 14 arranged between a pair of transparent substrates 11 and 12 and a liquid crystal 13 encapsulated between the transparent substrates, the spacers 14 are of a uniform height and each spacer 14 is substantially in a trapezoidal shape in which the ratio between the top area and the bottom area is 0.3 or less. The spacers 14 are formed on one of the transparent substrates 11 and 12. The spacers 14 are arranged at appropriate density so that the contact area ratio of the spacers' top surfaces in contact with the opposing substrate per unit area is within a range of 0.8%-1.0%.

  • Patent number: 8928847
Abstract: The liquid crystal display device includes a pixel structure provided with a large wall formed along a long side of a pixel with a rectangular plane, a small wall formed at a center of the pixel and extending in the same direction as the large wall, a wall electrode formed on a wall surface of the large wall, a plane electrode formed between the small and large walls, in which the wall electrode and the plane electrode form a pixel electrode, and a common electrode formed on a surface of the small wall. The large wall has a part with an increased thickness at an end part of the pixel. The wall electrode is bent toward the center of the pixel. This structure prevents decrease of reverse twist of liquid crystal at an end part of the pixel as well as generation of domain, thus improving transmittance of the screen.

  • Publication number: 20140320795
Abstract: Pixel electrodes each include a pixel plane portion expanded along a surface of the substrate, and a pixel wall portion rising up from the pixel plane portion. Common electrodes each include a common plane portion expanded along a surface of the substrate, and a common wall portion rising up from the common plane portion so as to face the pixel wall portion. Each of the compartment areas has the pixel wall portion on one of right and left sides in the lateral direction, and has the common wall portion on the other of the right and left sides. Molecules of the liquid crystal material are tilted up from the pixel wall portions in a direction of the common wall portion by the electric field. The respective pixel wall portions of the adjacent compartment areas are positioned on opposite sides to each other in the lateral direction.

  • Publication number: 20140306626
Abstract: A motor driving device of the present invention is a motor driving device that incorporates so-called vector control of controlling a current applied to a motor winding in accordance with the position of a rotor. The motor driving device receives the input of a duty command value from a host controller via a command input port, for example. The motor driving device obtains a current command or a speed command as a command value such that the input duty command value is equal to the duty of a drive pulse output from an inverter. Then, the motor driving device performs vector control based on the obtained command value.

  • Patent number: 8730560
Abstract: A pixel is formed by sealing an insulating liquid and floating particles in an area defined by a first substrate, a second substrate and partitions. The width of the partition has to be reduced in order to improve the pixel brightness by enlarging a flat electrode. In this case, the height of the partition has to be reduced for retaining the mechanical strength. If the height of the partition is reduced, an area of the partition electrode becomes small, thus failing to retain the memory effect. The planar surface of the partition is then formed into a zigzag shape so as to increase the area of the partition electrode.

  • Publication number: 20140132865
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device has a pair of wall electrodes facing each other, which is disposed on pixels on a first substrate, functions as one of pixel electrodes and a common electrode, and takes a posture of standing on the first substrate. Also, the liquid crystal display device has a center electrode that is disposed between the pair of wall electrodes, functions as the other of the pixel electrodes and the common electrode, has a convexity lower in height than the pair of wall electrodes, and makes a width in a direction along which the pair of wall electrodes faces each other gradually smaller toward the second substrate. According to this liquid crystal display device, since a vertical electric field can be prevented from being developed on an upper side of the center electrode, a transmittance of light can be improved.
