  • Publication number: 20240067171
Abstract: A brake light activation determining device has a processor configured to detect decrease in the speed of a vehicle ahead, which is located ahead of one's own vehicle, based on output information from a sensor that acquires information relating to the vehicle ahead, to discriminate whether the brake light of the vehicle ahead is activated based on an image representing the vehicle ahead, and to determine that the vehicle ahead is braking, when it has been discriminated that the brake light of the vehicle ahead has been activated, when the speed decrease timing at which reduction in the speed of the vehicle ahead has been detected and the activation timing at which brake light activation by the vehicle ahead was discriminated are synchronized for the vehicle ahead.

  • Patent number: 9294733
Abstract: Provided is a driving assist apparatus that eases the driver's operational burden by superimposing a guide image on an image captured by a vehicle-mounted camera, with a simple system configuration. A captured image of the periphery of the vehicle captured by the vehicle-mounted camera is displayed on a display apparatus inside the vehicle as a display image superimposed with a guide image using a guide display, which is a graphics image containing a guide line. Predicted course lines, which are guide lines indicating predicted courses according to an actual steering angle of the vehicle in the captured image, are stored as a plurality of graphics images that have been generated in advance for every predetermined steering angle, in a storage portion that stores graphics images for forming guide displays. A graphics image of a predicted course line is acquired from the storage portion according to the actual steering angle of the vehicle, and is provided as a guide image.

  • Patent number: 8928584
Abstract: A display apparatus includes an image pickup section, a display section, an instruction section, a position specification section, a direction specification section, a specification section, and a reporting section. The image pickup section sequentially picks up an image. The display section displays the picked up image. The instruction section generates an instruction signal for marking an object included in the image. The position specification section specifies a position where the display apparatus exists. The direction specification section specifies a pickup direction by the image pickup section. The specification section specifies a position of the object relative to the position of the display apparatus based on the position of the display apparatus and the pickup direction in response to the instruction signal. The reporting section reports the position of the object.

  • Patent number: 8704652
Abstract: An information providing apparatus includes a tactile information provider and a controller. The tactile information provider is arranged within a rim portion of a steering wheel of a vehicle and provides a tactile sense to a driver. The controller controls the tactile information provider to provide support information to the driver. The support information is defined as information that supports a driving of the vehicle. The tactile information provider includes a trench arranged in a circumferential direction of the rim portion, a ring-shaped ring portion, and a driving portion. The ring portion is rotatably arranged in the trench and has an exposed surface such that the exposed surface contacts with at least one hand of the driver. The driving portion is controlled by the controller to drive the ring potion rotate in the circumferential direction to provide the support information to the driver.
