  • Patent number: 8274695
Abstract: An image processing apparatus has a determining unit that determines based on a print job whether an image is to be recorded by ejecting a treatment liquid, a generating unit that based on image data generates print data by converting portions of each of the color data that are capable of being replaced by using black ink droplets into black data at a predetermined ratio, and a ratio setting unit that sets the ratio of the generating unit when the determining unit determines that the image is to be recorded by ejecting the treatment liquid so that the ratio is higher than that in other cases.

  • Patent number: 7510253
Abstract: The present invention provides an image forming device which forms an image by ejecting an ink drop and a reaction liquid drop which reacts with the ink drop. The image forming device includes: an ink drop ejecting data generating component, a reaction liquid ejecting data generating component, and an image forming component. The ink drop ejecting data generating component, on the basis of image data, generates ink drop ejecting data. The reaction liquid ejecting data generating component generates reaction liquid ejecting data, on the basis of ink drop ejecting data of a pixel of interest and the like. The image forming component forms an image by ejecting the ink drop on the basis of the ink drop ejecting data and ejecting the reaction liquid drop on the basis of the reaction liquid ejecting data.

  • Patent number: 7354126
Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprises: a recording head that record dots corresponding to pixels of image data by discharging ink droplets from plural nozzles and discharge, in correspondence to the dots, colorless or light-colored aggregating liquid that causes color material in the ink to aggregate; storage device that stores an image data conversion rule for converting the image data per pixel in accordance with the percentage of the amount of the aggregating liquid with respect to the amount of the discharge ink droplets that record the dots, with the image data conversion rule being determined so that differences in one or both of color and concentration when discharging different amounts of the aggregating liquid onto the dots recorded on the basis of the image data after conversion in accordance with the image data conversion rule become smaller with respect to differences in one or both of color and concentration when discharging different amounts of the aggregating liquid onto the dots recorded on the

  • Patent number: 6749280
Abstract: Coordinates in an image and its corresponding color-converted data are supplied to a control/operation portion for every pixel. Quantization is applied to each color. The quantization is carried out so that a kind of dot for at least one color is made different from kinds of dots for the others in one and the same pixel when dots for different colors are superimposed on the pixel. The control/operation portion refers to a two-dimensional matrix on the basis of the quantization result, determines an output dot for each color, and converts the data into data which can be processed by a printer. The printer records an image based on the quantization result while reciprocating a recording head. Thus, it is possible to reduce color shift caused by the difference of the ink landing order at the time of reciprocating the head for recording.
