  • Patent number: 6592672
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for coating a concavity of a building board. The apparatus includes a conveyor for transferring the building board and one or more coating nozzles for paint jetting a coating to the concavity formed in a surface of the building board. Each of the one or more coating nozzles is a jetting nozzle including a center jetting orifice, which is for jetting paint as a regulated jet in the form of a paint membrane, and one or more air-jet orifices, which are for jetting air along one or both of right and left edges of said paint membrane. The coating nozzles are controlled based on information of a cross-sectional geometry in crosswise direction of the concavity.

  • Patent number: 6444266
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a building panel with which a satisfactory three-dimensional effect can be easily imparted to a designed surface thereof, the designed surface including concave and convex portions. The method for manufacturing the building panel, obtained by forming a dot-coating layer on a designed surface, includes the steps of transferring a dot-presenting paint onto the designed surface for forming a plurality of dots via a transfer roll, the transfer roll having a plurality of protruding portions on a roll surface in order to form the dot-coating layer, wherein the plurality of dots are formed so that areas of the dots are varied through differences in pressurizing force applied by the protruding portions onto the designed surface.

  • Patent number: 6413616
Abstract: An aesthetically enhanced building board is disclosed which is obtained by applying an effective shade coating to concavities of a building board having linear, curved, continuous or discontinuous concavities or any other concavities. In accordance with a cross-sectional geometry in crosswise direction of a groove 5 formed in a surface of a building board (A), level (hs), position (m), and jetting angle (&agr;) are controlled, thereby a coating is applied in such a manner that color of the coating is deepest in a bottom of the groove 5 and, in sides, it becomes lighter from the bottom to the surface.

  • Patent number: 6013350
Abstract: A building panel having a three-dimensionally patterned surface, and a method and apparatus for coating the building panel are disclosed. The building panel includes convex portions partially topcoated with a first coating, concave portions partially topcoated with a second coating which is different in color from the first coating, and between the concave and convex portions topcoated with a third coating which is different in color from the first and second coatings. The third coating layer topcoated over the intermediate portions is preferably darker in color than the first coating so as to emphasize the depth of the concave portions and hence the stereographic appearance.
