  • Patent number: 8844857
Abstract: A pretensioner for a seat belt is configured to reduce injury by preventing load applied to the passenger's chest from increasing may include a pinion connected to a cylindrical spool wound with a webbing, a cylinder receiving a rack engaged with the pinion, a micro gas generator disposed in the cylinder and rotating the pinion by moving the rack with an explosion due to an external shock, a generator cap covering the outer circumferential edge of the cylinder and preventing the micro gas generator from separating outside, and a guide blade that guides gas discharged through vent holes to the outside is formed on the outer circumferential edge of the micro gas generator.

  • Publication number: 20130126655
Abstract: A pretensioner for a seat belt is configured to reduce injury by preventing load applied to the passenger's chest from increasing, by allowing a compressed gas generated in a cylinder when a rack used for the pretensioner moves down to be discharged while rotating along a spiral guide blade formed in a micro gas generator. The pretensioner may include a pinion connected to a cylindrical spool wound with a webbing, a cylinder receiving a rack engaged with the pinion, a micro gas generator disposed in the cylinder and rotating the pinion by moving the rack with an explosion due to an external shock, and a generator cap covering the outer circumferential edge of the cylinder and preventing the micro gas generator from separating outside, in which a guide blade that guides gas discharged is formed on the outer circumferential edge of the micro gas generator.

  • Patent number: 7825789
Abstract: A system and method of detecting whether a seat belt is worn is disclosed. The system includes a contact type sensor and a non-contact type sensor installed in a seat belt buckle. A Body Control Module (BCM) receives a signal from the contact type sensor and transmitting the signal to a cluster. An airbag control unit receives a signal from the non-contact type sensor. The seat belt control unit determines whether a seat belt is worn using a signal received from the cluster when an ignition key is off, and determines whether the seat belt is worn using a signal received from the airbag control unit when the ignition key is on.

  • Patent number: 7566073
Abstract: An airbag control system for a vehicle includes: a switch, configured to be coupled to a projection on a child safety seat when the child safety seat is mounted to a vehicle seat; a tether anchor on the vehicle seat, including a contact member and a tether anchor bar configured to be coupled to a hook connected to the child safety seat, and to be electrically connected to the contact member when the tether anchor bar is not coupled to the hook; and a controller, electrically connected to the switch and the contact member. If the child safety seat is mounted to the vehicle seat and/or the tether anchor bar is coupled to the hook, the controller receives a signal from the switch and/or the tether anchor bar and instructs an airbag module not to deploy.

  • Patent number: 6390497
Abstract: This invention relates to an airbag door of a vehicle characterized by having a plate spring 12 located underneath the internal surface of said airbag door 10 which has a restoring force to be rolled up and multiple evenly spaced grooves 14 generated in the lower part of said airbag door 10 so that said airbag door 10 can be rolled up along the groove when said airbag door 10 is deployed thus enabling to prevent the windshield from breakage resulted from a physical contact with an airbag door 10 when said airbag door is deployed upon a vehicle collision.
