  • Patent number: 6979386
Abstract: A tissue product containing a cellulosic fibrous material and less than about 10 wt. % of a superabsorbent material (e.g., fibers, particles, etc.) is provided. In some instances, the superabsorbent material can absorb between about 100 to about 350 grams of an aqueous solution per gram of superabsorbent material. In some embodiments, the superabsorbent material can be applied at the stock-preparation stage of a papermaking process, and can be provided in a dry or preswollen state.

  • Publication number: 20040202701
Abstract: A paper product, such as a facial tissue, that is capable of transferring beneficial chemical agents to the user is disclosed. In one embodiment, the paper product is treated with a siloxane treatment that contains two (2) siloxanes. The first siloxane bonds to pulp fibers contained within the paper product. The second siloxane composition, on the other hand, is bonded to a beneficial chemistry agent. When contacted with a user's skin, the second siloxane composition bonded to the beneficial chemistry agent is transferred to the user's skin.

  • Patent number: 6432268
Abstract: A tissue product applied with a softening treatment is provided. The softening treatment contains a softening compound, such as a amino-functional polysiloxane, and a polymerization inhibitor. The polymerization inhibitor inhibits cross-linking of the softening compound when subjected to non-ideal conditions, e.g., stored for 8 weeks at 100° F. and 80% relative humidity. In some embodiments, for example, the polymerization inhibitor can be an alkyl siloxane, such as hexamethyl disiloxane.
