Patent number: 6840003Abstract: A light emitting insect trap comprising an insect attracting mechanism, a support framework, a suction producing mechanism, at least one section of netting, a releasable fastening device, a plurality of fan guards and a mounting means. The insect attracting mechanism is preferably a plurality of light emitting devices. Once the insects are attracted to the proximity of the insect trap by the light emitting devices the insects are drawn into the insect trap by the downdraft generated by the suction producing mechanism. The suction producing mechanism is preferably a propeller blade fan. Once the insects are drawn into the insect trap they are collected in a section of netting that is attached to the support framework of the insect trap. The releasable fastening device allows access into the netting so that the collected insects may be disposed.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2003Date of Patent: January 11, 2005Inventor: Dale Moore

Patent number: 6433988Abstract: An apparatus comprises a protection group. The protection group includes components, a signal bus, including segments and connectors, that couple the components. The components also include a plurality of working components, and a protection component. Each connector is included in a working component. Each segment couples two adjacent components. The signal bus is terminated by the protection component. A method comprises generating a first signal from a plurality of working components. The first signal is analyzed by a protection component to determine if any working component is improperly functioning. The protection component transmits a second signal to the plurality of the working components to turn off an improperly functioning working component. Data signals are routed by coupling the improperly functioning working component through a signal bus to the protection component. The data signals are processed by the protection component.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 1997Date of Patent: August 13, 2002Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Gregory D. Patent number: 6367361Abstract: A method and apparatus of trimming a thermoformed film comprising the following steps. A Thermoplastic flexible film is placed within a frame. The film and frame are heated sufficiently to make the film pliable. The film and frame are moved to a position adjacent a forming mandrel. The forming mandrel is moved against the film and causes the film to conform to the shape of the mandrel. After the film has fully conformed to the shape of the mandrel, the mandrel and film are moved to a trimming station. Knives on the trimming station contact and cut the film. It is also desirable that the knives be mounted on actuators to move them from extended to retracted positions. A plurality of knives are used to trim around a three-dimensional article.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1997Date of Patent: April 9, 2002Assignee: Ford Motor CompanyInventors: Jeffrey K. Patent number: 6143227Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a film-covered flange having the following steps. An injection molding press having a mold cavity and a core receives a pre-molded thermoformed film. The film is formed to have an in-turned flange portion that will form the covering for the final article. The film is placed within the mold cavity. The core has a slide movable between retracted and extended positions. The slide is retracted and the core is moved within the mold cavity. After the press is closed the slide is moved from the retracted position to the extended position. The slide includes a recessed portion that lies opposite the flange portion to create a space therebetween. A molten plastic material is injected into the space. The plastic material adheres to the flange portion and forms an article having a covered flange.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1997Date of Patent: November 7, 2000Assignee: Visteon Global Technologies, Inc.Inventors: James Heiden, Mark Alan Harris, Dale Moore, Zinoviy Chernyak

Patent number: 5985198Abstract: A method for manufacturing a film-coated article by the following steps. A pre-molded film having a backing surface and a decorative surface is formed in the shape of the molded article. The film includes an opening that allows the molted plastic to pass through the film. The film is placed within a mold press having a mold with a cavity surface and a movable core. The mold includes an resin inlet with an inlet surface. The film is placed on the mold with the decorative surface juxtaposed the mold. The opening on the film overlies the resin inlet. The mold is closed and the film held securely in place against the inlet surface. A molten plastic material is injected through the resin inlet. The plastic material passes through the film and fuses to the backing surface. After the article has cooled, the press is opened. The molded article is retained on the core and removed from the press.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1997Date of Patent: November 16, 1999Assignee: Ford Motor CompanyInventors: Mark Alan Harris, Dale Moore, Zinoviy Chernyak
