  • Patent number: 11137202
Abstract: A refrigeration appliance includes a compartment for storing food items in a refrigerated environment, the compartment being illuminated by at least one modular LED illumination device. The portion of the illumination device disposed within the compartment is generally flush with a mounting section and includes an LED lighting module arranged in a housing. The module has a board member, two or more LED light sources electrically connected to one another and to the board member, and two or more electrical edge connections for allowing electrically parallel connection between two or more modules being interchangeable with one another. A concave reflecting surface is positioned adjacent the module with a majority of light emitted from the LED light sources being incident thereon for reflection into the compartment. A liner defining the compartment has the mounting section to which the housing is mounted, where the mounting section has an inward draft angle.

  • Patent number: 10001316
Abstract: An air tower adapted to be located within a compartment of a refrigeration appliance comprises a first plenum chamber in fluid communication with a first compartment of the refrigeration appliance, a second plenum chamber in fluid communication with a second compartment of the refrigeration appliance, a damper connecting the first plenum chamber to the second plenum chamber, and a movable part within the damper configured to be moveable between a first position and a second position. When moved to the first position, the movable part is relatively closer to interior side walls to thereby restrict air flow from the first plenum chamber to the second plenum chamber. When moved to the second position, the movable part is relatively further away from the interior side walls to thereby permit more air flow from the first plenum chamber to the second plenum chamber.

  • Patent number: 9823008
Abstract: A storage compartment assembly is located within the interior of a compartment of a refrigerator such as a fresh food compartment of a refrigerator. The storage compartment assembly includes a storage container the temperature of which can be controlled independently of the temperature in the fresh food compartment. At least one of the sides of the storage container can be spaced away from a respective interior side of the refrigerator compartment and a housing located in the space between the side of the storage container and the interior side of the refrigerator compartment. The housing can contain components that are configured to function in the operation of the refrigerator, including the storage compartment assembly. The refrigerator can comprise a bottom-mount refrigerator and the fresh food compartment can be provided with double-doors for closing and opening the interior of the fresh food compartment.

  • Patent number: 9486078
Abstract: A shelf assembly for an appliance comprises a shelf panel with a planar support surface and a frame to support the shelf panel with the support surface extending generally along a horizontal plane. The frame comprises a front support channel, opposed side support channels, and a rear support channel. The rear support channel is adapted to support the shelf panel against the force of gravity and to inhibit removal of the shelf panel from the frame in the direction of the horizontal plane. The shelf panel is selectively insertable into or removable from the rear support channel by temporarily deflecting the rear support channel relative to the horizontal plane a sufficient amount to separate the rear support channel from a rear edge of the shelf panel.
