  • Publication number: 20110098630
Abstract: A gastroenterologic sleeve is anchored within the digestive tract, without tissue-puncturing mechanisms, by providing anchoring mechanisms that utilize the inherent shape of the stomach to prevent sleeve migration. In at least two embodiments, the anchoring mechanism expands to conform to the interior stomach walls. In other embodiments, internal pessary rings are held in place at the gastroesophageal junction by an external band. A delivery device is provided for implanting the various device transesophageally.

  • Publication number: 20110009801
Abstract: A device for isolating tissue in the digestive tract including a biocompatible portion having a surface sized to cover the tissue to be isolated and also includes a plurality of micro-anchors attached to the biocompatible portion and extending from the surface, the micro-anchors sized to penetrate the mucosa of the tissue. A method for isolating tissue in the digestive tract in which an isolation element is delivered to a desired location in the digestive system; the isolation element having fixed thereto a plurality of micro-anchors. The method also includes attaching the isolation element to tissue at the desired location by causing the micro-anchors to penetrate the mucosa of the tissue.

  • Publication number: 20110009886
Abstract: A method and devices that endoscopically create an anastomosis between two sections of the digestive tract, thereby allowing at least some chyme to bypass a section of the digestive tract while, optionally, the remaining chyme passes through the entire tract.

  • Patent number: 7584519
Abstract: A disposable mitt or glove for treating hard surfaces. The mitt or glove includes at least two layers and a treatment composition. The layers may be laminated, co-extruded, or otherwise attached. The outer layer is preferably nonwoven. The mitt or glove may be lined with tack points to control hand movement and may have an ultrasonically bonded cuff area. More particularly, the present invention relates to a disposable treatment mitt or glove and set of instructions for treating household surfaces or automobiles.

  • Patent number: 7270706
Abstract: A single roll crusher for comminuting high purity materials includes a roll with teeth spaced around the circumference of the roll. The roll is rotatably mounted inside a housing. The housing has a top with an entrance port, sides, and bottom with an exit port. The roll, teeth, and at least the inside surfaces of the top, sides, and bottom are fabricated from a material of construction that minimizes contamination of silicon. The material of construction may be tungsten carbide with a cobalt binder. The single roll crusher is used for processing polycrystalline silicon.

  • Publication number: 20050086855
Abstract: A method for reducing the level of deposits in a jet engine, the method comprising supplying to the engine a jet fuel composition comprising a jet fuel and at least one hydrocarbyl comb polymer. The at least one hydrocarbyl comb polymer has a number average molecular weight of less than 5,500, preferably less than 5,000.

  • Publication number: 20030159647
Abstract: A method for recharging a crucible with polycrystalline silicon comprises adding flowable chips to a crucible used in a Czochralski-type process. Flowable chips are polycrystalline silicon particles made from polycrystalline silicon prepared by a chemical vapor deposition process, and flowable chips have a controlled particle size distribution, generally nonspherical morphology, low levels of bulk impurities, and low levels of surface impurities. Flowable chips can be added to the crucible using conventional feeder equipment, such as vibration feeder systems and canister feeder systems.
