  • Patent number: 11213172
Abstract: This disclosure provides a drain fitting having a discharge portion comprising a chamber formed by walls extending between and around an inlet and an outlet, the inlet being wider than the outlet or having a greater cross-sectional area than the outlet and the walls having interior surfaces sloping inwardly between the inlet and outlet.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 10, 2019
Date of Patent: January 4, 2022
    Assignee: NuWhirl Systems Corporation
    Inventor: Dale Van Spengen
  • Patent number: 11198993
Abstract: This disclosure relates to drains in bathing environments. A drain fitting device can have a motor to actuate a cam to maneuver a drain stopper, enabling the flow of fluid through a drain inlet of a bathing environment. The drain fitting device can provide a motorized or actuated method for a user to quickly and reliably open a drain stopper of a bathing environment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 24, 2020
Date of Patent: December 14, 2021
    Assignee: NuWhirl Systems Corporation

  • Publication number: 20200248697
Abstract: This disclosure relates fluid moving devices such as pumps and associated components such as to pump casings, pump casing assemblies, and pumps, systems and methods of manufacture and use. In particular, this disclosure relates to combined-purpose devices, such as pump casings and pumps, that can operate as standard centrifugal pumps, booster pumps, and hybrid pumps. The combined-purpose device devices can produce different pressure and flow characteristics that are desirable in, for example, bathing environments.

  • Patent number: 8339090
Abstract: An apparatus operable in a wet environment includes a voltage doubler circuit including a pair of diodes, a pair of direct current switching elements connected between the respective diodes and a common point, a controller, an interface connected to the controller for receiving external status signals, and a switching arrangement responsive to signals from the controller to select the full power mode or a controlled power mode. In the controlled power mode, the switching elements are switched in a predetermined sequence such that only one of the switching elements conducts current during any one half cycle of the AC output voltage applied to the motor.

  • Publication number: 20110057598
Abstract: An apparatus operable in a wet environment for controlling the flow of electrical current to an electrical load, includes a pair of input terminals for connection to an AC mains supply; a pair of output terminals for connection to an electric motor and connected in a full power mode to the pair of input terminals; a voltage doubler circuit including a pair of diodes; a pair of direct current switching elements connected between the respective diodes and a common point; a controller; an interface connected to the controller for receiving external status signals; a switching arrangement responsive to signals from the controller to select the full power mode or a controlled power mode, and wherein in the controlled power mode the switching arrangement connects one of the output terminals to the common point so that AC output voltage is supplied to the electric motor through the switching elements.
