  • Publication number: 20180180687
Abstract: An adjustable electric coil for magnetic particle inspection has a plurality of telescopically interconnected sections. Each of the interconnected sections includes a connector element and a conducting element. The conducting element is joined at a proximal end to an end surface of a peripheral wall of the connector element, and a central opening is defined through the connector element on one side of the conducting element. The conducting element of each section is inserted through the central opening of an adjacent connector element of an adjacent section.

  • Publication number: 20160325372
Abstract: A method of repairing a cast iron component is disclosed. The method may include removing a damaged or defective portion of the cast iron component, and pre-heating the cast iron component to a temperature in a range from 200-800 degrees F. After pre-heating, the method may include welding a removed area of the cast iron component using a Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) process with a consumable wire electrode made from one of a carbon steel alloy, a nickel alloy, or a nickel-iron alloy material having a Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) that is within ±10% of a CTE of the cast iron material of the cast iron component to fill the area where the damaged or defective portion was removed. After welding, the cast iron component may be cooled and the welded portion of the cast iron component may be final machined.

  • Patent number: 8544797
Abstract: A system for controlling the lift of an airship for carrying a cargo and a supply of fuel has a self supporting hull made of a flexible gas impermeable material. Air which is located in the hull is at an internal pressure which is greater than the atmospheric pressure of the air on the outside of the hull, and a bag filled with helium is located within the hull and is surrounded by the air in the hull. A heating means is provided to heat both the air and the helium. The bag located within the hull and surrounded by the air in the hull has enough helium in it at ambient temperature to lift all but the cargo and fuel in the airship, and the air and helium, when heated, provides increased buoyancy due to the increase of expansion of both heated gases to lift the airship with its fuel and cargo.

  • Publication number: 20110272312
Abstract: A box for holding a book or object having orthogonal corners wherein each corner includes a first surface having a bent ear, a second surface having a fold over flap and a third surface that is formed when the fold over flap of the second surface is folded over the bottom and top edges of the bent ear. The end of the fold over flap has tabs at its end which engage tab receptors which are located in the third surface before it folds over the bottom edge of the bent ear. The tab receptors are cavities which extend only partially through the third surface.

  • Publication number: 20030078660
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an orthopedic implant that is comprised of a corrugated foraminous sleeve. The sleeve is formed with alternating grooves and ridges, referred to herein as lobes and depressions. The corrugated sleeve may be formed from a sheet provided with openings (foramina), which is then corrugated to impart the lobes and depressions. The sheet may then be enclosed in a loop, such as a circular shape, elliptical shape, or any other shape contemplated by the skilled artisan, to form a corrugated cage that may be used as an orthopedic implant.
