Abstract: A method of controlling a biofilm comprises contacting the biofilm with probiotic species and contacting the biofilm with chemical disinfectant. The biofilm may be contacted with the probiotic species and the chemical disinfectant simultaneously or sequentially. The method provides a higher reduction in the amount of at least one microbial species in the biofilm, compared to a similar method applying only the chemical disinfectant. Furthermore, the method may provide an unexpected synergy between the probiotic species and the chemical disinfectant in controlling the biofilm.

Abstract: A method for controlling Listeria in floor drains wherein an aqueous solution composed of a chlorinated caustic material which is soft metal compatible is introduced into a drain where Listeria is present. In a preferred manner, the aqueous solution is introduced into the drain employing a hose end dispensing device having a foam producing nozzle. The resulting aqueous solution has a sufficient viscosity to remain in the drain for about 30 seconds to 10 minutes.

Abstract: The invention relates to a multi-component chlorine dioxide producing system. The invention produces effective amounts of chlorine dioxide in five minutes or less without instantaneous production or loss of chlorine dioxide. The invention further includes a dispensing apparatus to allow for the dispensing of the multi component system to allow for insitu production of chlorine dioxide.

Abstract: An antibacterial cleaning composition comprising about 0.05 to about 1 wt. % of a cationic polymer having a charge density of 0.0025 or higher, about 0.2 to about 10 wt. % of an alkylpolyglucoside having a formula: R--O(-G).sub.n wherein R is an alkyl group having from about 8 to about 22 carbon atoms, G is a saccharide residue having 5 or 6 carbon atoms and n is a number from 1-10, about 0.2 to about 5% of a zwitterionic surfactant and about 0.2 to about 5 wt. % of a biquanide compound, the composition having a pH of 7.5 or greater.
