  • Patent number: 9903358
Abstract: An air compressor comprising an air intake unit for importing air at atmospheric pressure. A cylinder means for compressing air; a storage tank; a first airline extending between the air intake unit and the cylinder means, the first airline being configured to convey air from the air intake unit into the cylinder means; a second airline extending between the cylinder means and the storage tank, the second airline being configured to convey compressed air from the cylinder means to the storage tank; a motor connected to the cylinder means, configured for driving the cylinder means; a valve inserted into the first airline, the valve being configured to be adjustable between a closed condition and an open condition.

  • Publication number: 20160184953
Abstract: A digital camera is attached to an arm that is fixed in position relative to a cutter at the end of a cutter used for hollowing a wooden object on a wood lathe. An image of the cutter is captured by a computing device attached to the camera. That image is superimposed on the screen of the computer over the live camera image such that when the cutter is moved into the object being hollowed, the position of the cutter relative to the object is known. The same device can be used for duplicating as well by superimposing, on the screen, a captured image of the object to be duplicated over the live video of a piece of wood on the lathe.

  • Publication number: 20020154937
Abstract: The present provides a porous plug between a reservoir and a feeder having an open space therein to store the excess liquid as the underpressure within the reservoir subsides, i.e., higher absolute pressure. That is, as excess liquid conveys through the porous plug and then to the feeder, liquid take the path of least resistance, which in this case is the open space within the feeder. As liquid enters the open space, air within the open space is displaced through larger capillaries in the feeder. The displacement of air creates an slight vacuum or underpressure within the open space itself to hold the liquid inside the open space until the underpressure within the open space rises, i.e., lower absolute pressure.

  • Patent number: 6457892
Abstract: One feature of the present invention is to provide a capillary hole through a storage container that is holding the liquid so that as the underpressure within the container increases, atmospheric air may enter through the capillary hole to hold the underpressure at a predetermined level. One of the advantages with the present invention is that air enters through the container wall and not through the conveying line. That is, the diameter of the capillary hole formed in the container may be more precisely controlled than trying to control the largest pore size in the conveying line. This means that the performance of the writing instrument may be held to a tighter tolerance because the underpressure in the container may be more accurately controlled.

  • Patent number: 4502197
Abstract: A tool for installing and removing a seal retainer of the type found on the drive axles of certain front wheel drive automobiles. The tool comprises a C-ring for engaging a seal retainer and a crossbar parallel to the C-ring. A pair of spacers are rigidly attached to and between the C-ring and crossbar to form a frame. A thumbscrew is operatively positioned in a threaded hole through the crossbar for engaging a shaft while installing or removing a seal retainer. The crossbar of the tool is tapped with a mallet to apply the force which is necessary to remove a seal retainer. The force which is necessary to install a seal retainer is applied by tightening the thumbscrew.
