  • Patent number: 6152235
Abstract: A universal cloven hoof shoe is described including a sole section having a top surface, an opposed bottom side, a toe end and sides joining the top surface and bottom side and extending rearwardly from the toe end. An upper section is formed integrally with the sole section and extends upwardly from the sides and rearwardly from the toe end, terminating to leave an extension of the sole at the heel end. The sole section and upper section are formed of a flexible material, and the upper section is shaped such that it may receive either a medial or lateral claw of a cloven hoof. The present invention eliminates the need to provide one shoe configuration for a lateral (e.g. left) claw and another configuration for a medial (e.g. right) claw. Further, the upper section is angled with respect to the top surface of the sole section to conform to an angle of a hoof claw. A tread pattern is formed along the bottom edge of the sole section to provide support in critical areas.

  • Patent number: 5161351
Abstract: A harness 10 includes a buckle 20 for releasably securing harness strap ends 13 and 14 in one of two alternative conditions. The buckle includes a frame 21 and a pivoted clasp member 37. One strap end 13 is secured to the buckle frame. The other strap end 14 may be connected through an opening 38 between the clasp member 37 and a clamping surface 26 on the frame. The clasp 37 is normally held closed by a spring 46, operating against an eccentric clamp surface 42 on the clasp member 37. Alternatively, a spring arm of the spring 46 may be lifted, and the free end of the strap end 14 may be inserted through the buckle between the clasp member 37 and the spring arm. When released against the strap, the spring arm will hold the strap for release upon application of prescribed tension along the straps. The clasp member is mounted to the frame within angular slots to permit opening of the clasp to accept thick straps or straps of double thickness.

  • Patent number: 3949538
Abstract: A halter for training horses includes circumferentially expandable and contractible loops for encircling a horses head and nose. Reins operatively and integrally interconnect the loops so that tension applied thereto results in simultaneous circumferential contraction of the loops. Both loops include protuberances strategically located to apply concentrated pressure to selected sensitive areas of the head and nose in response to pulling force on the reins.
