  • Patent number: 9151006
Abstract: A material pushing apparatus is disclosed that has a central blade, at least one removable side plate attached to the central blade and a segmented scraping edge flexibly attached to the central blade along the bottom longitudinal edge of the blade. A position sensor is attached between the blade and the scraping edge and produces a position signal that is displayed to indicate the relative position between the blade and edge in order to characterize the amount of downward pressure applied to the scraping edge. Other aspects and features of the disclosed apparatus include a tilt sensor and display, and an improved coupler having shock-absorbing features and a cam-type clamping arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20110112720
Abstract: Road conditions reporting is described. In embodiments, road conditions data is received and a condition of a roadway can be determined based on the road conditions data. The road conditions data can be received from a roadside station, vehicles, and/or from one or more sensors. The road conditions data and/or the condition of the roadway can then be communicated to a road conditions data system. In various embodiments, a road conditions data system can be implemented in a vehicle, or a road conditions data system can be implemented as a roadside station.

  • Patent number: 7629801
Abstract: The present invention is generally directed toward sensors and associated methods, including surface condition sensors. For example, in certain embodiments sensor can be configured to sense the surface conditions on a road surface and/or an airport surface. One aspect of the invention is directed wet/dry sensors. Other aspects of the invention are directed toward conductivity sensors. Still other aspects of the invention are directed toward sensor packages that include a combination of active and passive sensor technology. Yet other aspects of the invention are directed toward communication systems and methods associated with various sensors.

  • Publication number: 20090007653
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a surface sensor system comprising a wet/dry sensor assembly, an electrically isolated passive sensor assembly, a thermally adjustable active sensor assembly, at least one temperature sensor, and a data processing device coupled together as a unit positionable adjacent to a surface, such as an outdoor surface. The unit is configured to determine the presence a surface material containing water or a water-based mixture on the surface and the solid or liquid phase of the surface material.
