Abstract: A safety extension accessory for a ladder of the type having laterally spaced apart rails, interconnected by laterally extending rungs. The safety accessory includes a pair of handrails each having an upper portion and a lower portion, where each lower portion is affixed to the upper portion of the respective ladder rail. A non-skid base is provided on the lower portion of said handrails to engage the landing surface. The hand rails are spaced apart further than the ladder rails to permit easy entry to the landing surface through the hand rails.
