  • Patent number: 6517428
Abstract: A work station having an environmental controller for maintaining air flow in and through the work station at a user-selected level. The work station includes a pressure cabinet and a perforated work surface forming the top of the pressure cabinet. A pressure inducing assembly is located within the cabinet below the work surface to draw air into the cabinet and create a negative pressure in a work space defined above the work surface. A support coupled to two sides of the pressure cabinet provides a channel for air flow from the pressure cabinet to an air chamber located above the work surface. Air is drawn from the air chamber generally downward toward the work surface by the negative pressure created in the work space to provide an air curtain substantially surrounding the work surface.

  • Patent number: 6382163
Abstract: A system 40 for starting a variable displacement internal combustion engine 12 of an automotive vehicle 10 has a controller 54 coupled to a starter/alternator 42 that is used for initiating the rotation crankshaft 50 of the engine 12. The controller 54 controls the amount of torque provided by the starter/alternator 42 of the crankshaft. The starter/alternator rotates the crankshaft to a predetermined torque to reduce torque ripple in the crankshaft.

  • Patent number: 6341581
Abstract: A rodent cage including a cage bottom having a plurality of integral side walls, a floor and an open top end. A peripheral lip extends continuously around the top end. A pair of recesses are disposed on the peripheral lip. A feeder assembly has a frame and at least one section descending therefrom. The frame has pair of flanges extending therefrom so that when the feeder assembly is disposed in the cage bottom the pair of flanges are mated with the pair of recesses, respectively. A bonnet is dimensioned in size for sealing the top end of the cage bottom. A lock is disposed on the bonnet for preventing rodents housed in the cage from displacing the bonnet from the cage bottom.

  • Patent number: 6217437
Abstract: A work station includes a pressure cabinet and a work surface forming the top of the pressure cabinet. The work surface is perforated along at least a portion of the work surface. A pressure inducing assembly is located within the cabinet below the work surface to draw air into the cabinet. A plenum is coupled to the pressure cabinet. An air chamber is mounted on the plenum and receives air passing from the cabinet through the air plenum to the air chamber. The air chamber then guides the air towards the work surface.

  • Patent number: 6029698
Abstract: A device for regulating exhaust air flow in a ventilation system when a rack is removed from the system. The device includes a housing forming an air conduit. A valve is mounted in the housing with the valve being moveable between an open position when the device is connected to the rack, and in one of a plurality of partially preset closed positions when the device is not connected to the rack. A valve adjustment member selects the one of a plurality of partially closed positions and is preset during factory testing. When valve is installed at facility and valve is removed from rack the adjustment is fully automatic. The technician merely disconnects the exhaust drop hose with valve attached, and valve automatically adjusts to a preset back pressure duplication position (partially closed position).

  • Patent number: 4045544
Abstract: CrO.sub.2 synthesized by the known hydrothermal reaction of CrO.sub.3 /Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 /H.sub.2 O mixtures (including minor dopants) by the use of a reaction vessel having a hollow longitudinal core open at both ends. The core may have a cross section of convenient size and shape. This process results in shortened heating and cool/vent/dry cycles resulting in increased overall productivity despite the apparent reduced volume of the reaction vessel.
