  • Patent number: 7291102
Abstract: An exercise apparatus includes a floor engaging base, a vertical stanchion, and at least one body support. Cables are interconnected between respective handles and respective pivot arms. At least one resistance device is interconnected between the pivot arms and the frame. The cables are routed about pulleys on the frame in a manner that facilitates different types of exercise motions. Adjustments to resistance may be made by repositioning at least one of the cables and the resistance device relative to the pivot arms.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 23, 2006
Date of Patent: November 6, 2007
Inventors: Ross A. Mackert, Mark A. Krull, Dale R. Henn, Neal P. Barnes

  • Patent number: 6491610
Abstract: An exercise bench includes a floor engaging base, a vertical column, a body support, and inclined rails which occupy a vertical plane together with the column. Cables are interconnected between respective handles and respective pivot arms. At least one resistance device is interconnected between the pivot arms and one of the frame members. The cables are routed about pulleys which are selectively movable along respective rails to facilitate different types of exercise motions.

  • Patent number: 5295931
Abstract: The present invention provides an exercise apparatus having a frame that extends between a front end and a rear end, and is designed to rest upon a floor surface. The frame supports an inclined rail at an angle of greater than five degrees relative to the floor surface. A seat is slidably secured relative to the rail, and the angle of inclination opposes rearward movement of the seat. A load resistant line means is secured at one end to the seat and at another effective end relative to the frame to further oppose rearward movement of the seat.
