  • Publication number: 20160098413
Abstract: An improved apparatus and method for performing snapshots of a logical volume within a block-level storage devices is disclosed. When a snapshot is created, the logical volume manager determines the blocks in the relevant volume that are not allocated and lists those blocks in an exception table. Upon receiving a write request, the volume manager checks the exception table to determine whether the specific block in question is unallocated. If it is allocated, the volume manager performs a copy-on-write for the block for the snapshot. If it is unallocated, the volume manager does not copy the block. This results in significant efficiency, since copy-on-write operations will not be performed for unallocated blocks within a snapshot volume.

  • Patent number: 7207166
Abstract: A rotary side-pull mower-conditioner includes a gearbox mounted to the header frame at a location spaced vertically above the leftmost cutting unit of the rotary cutterbar. A tongue support projects forwardly from a crossbeam of the mobile carrier frame of the mower-conditioner at a location spaced rightward of the gearbox. A tongue has a rear end coupled to a forward region of the tongue support, and is swingable about an upright axis between a leftmost operating position, wherein the tongue passes forward of the tongue support, and a rightmost transport position. The tongue has a rear section which is approximately at the same height as the gearbox when the header is in a raised transport position. Sufficient clearance exists between the tongue and header when the header is in its lowered working position so as to permit full vertical floating movement of the header without interfering with the tongue.

  • Patent number: 7047714
Abstract: A side-pull mower-conditioner includes a wheeled frame from which a crop harvesting header is suspended. A draft tongue carrier forms a forward projection of the frame and terminates at a forward end located above the header. A draft tongue includes a rear end pivotally coupled to the forward end of the draft tongue carrier by an upright pivot pin defining an upright pivot axis about which the tongue can be swung between a rightmost transport position and a leftmost working position. An extensible and retractable hydraulic actuator is located leftward of the upright pivot axis and is coupled between the draft tongue carrier and the draft tongue and is fully extended when the draft tongue is in the transport position, and is fully retracted when the tongue is in the leftmost working position.

  • Patent number: 6845603
Abstract: The cutter bar of a side-pull mower-conditioner is located within a housing including a forward top wall section defined by an access door that is hinged for being lifted from a substantially horizontal position to a raised position permitting access to the cutter bar. A towing tongue mounted at the side of the carrier frame of the mower-conditioner is mounted for swinging horizontally about a vertical axis and is operatively associated with the access door so that the open access door is closed when the tongue is swung toward the open door. In one embodiment, the association is a specially shaped door support member fixed to the tongue.

  • Patent number: 5722222
Abstract: A drive for a center-pivot mower-conditioner includes a power shaft supported within the center-pivot tongue and ending in an equal-angle drive section which intersects the vertical axis of the connection of the tongue with the center of a transverse beam forming part of a main frame of the mower-conditioner when the tongue is in a straight ahead position. A multiple v-belt drive transfers rotation of the tongue-carried drive-line to a substantially horizontal, fore-and-aft extending main header drive shaft located just leftwardly of the transverse beam of the main frame. The main header drive shaft is coupled to a first header drive box containing right-angle gearing for directing power to a downwardly extending through shaft extending through a second header gear box to a left-most cutting unit of a rotary cutterbar extending transversely across a header suspended for floating over undulating terrain during cutting operation.

  • Patent number: 5642607
Abstract: An implement includes a mid-mounted pivot tongue that is movable in a normal range of movement when the implement is working and to a transport position for towing the implement endwise when the implement is to be transported. Two embodiments of a stroke control device are provided and each acts to limit the stroke of a tongue-swing hydraulic actuator to operate for swinging the tongue through its operating range during normal operation of the implement, with each stroke control device being selectively operable to a stroke-freeing position permitting the actuator to operate through its entire stroke for moving the tongue beyond its operating range to a transport position. The stroke control devices and the tongue include cooperating structure for locking the tongue in its transport position.

  • Patent number: 5056969
Abstract: A shield device for attachment to a machine tool is disclosed. Provision for a slotted member that receives a sheet of shield material is made. Bracket arm means mount the shield for adjustable pivotable movement, and clamping means or magnetic means allow attachment of the shield device to a machine tool.
