  • Publication number: 20230069640
Abstract: In some implementations, a query management system may receive an access notification associated with the data source. The query management system may analyze the data source to determine a query parameter that is associated with the data source. The query management system may determine a reliability score for the query parameter based on at least one of: source data of the data source, and other source data associated with one or more other data sources. The query management system may configure, based on the reliability score satisfying a reliability threshold, a communication interface with the data source. The query management system may integrate the data source for use with the virtual assistant in accordance with the reliability score, the query parameter, and the communication interface.

  • Publication number: 20220269734
Abstract: Intelligent natural language dialogue systems and methods are described for creating intelligent natural language dialogues for efficient retrieval of items in one or more large databases. An intelligent dialogue model is trained with feature-value pair(s) corresponding to natural language phrase(s) defining respective feature-specific intents. The intelligent dialogue model interprets the audible utterance of a user to determine user-specific feature-value pair(s), where the audible utterance comprises a natural language phrase corresponding to a feature-specific intent. An item is identified based on a matching score determined from the user-specific feature-value pair(s) compared with one or more item definitions defined in a database.

  • Publication number: 20210125250
Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating customer interactions, such as customer evaluation of goods, are provided. Sensor input relevant to items selected by a customer is received by an interactive device, which creates a contextual element based on the sensor input and previously provided configuration data. The device receiving a voice command from a customer. The voice command is parsed into a logical command. The logical command is associated with the contextual element and the associated contextual element and logical command are transmitted to an associate, such that the associate is prompted to respond to the logical command.

  • Patent number: 10304325
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for determining contexts and determining associated health profiles using information received from multiple health sensor enabled electronic devices, are disclosed. Contexts can be defined by a description of spatial and/or temporal components. Such contexts can be arbitrarily defined using semantically meaningful and absolute descriptions of time and location. Health sensor data is associated with or includes context data that describes the circumstances under which the data was determined. The health sensor data can include health sensor readings that are implicit indications of health for the context. The sensor data can also include user reported data with explicit descriptions of health for the context. The health sensor data can be filtered by context data according a selected context. The filtered sensor data can then be analyzed to determine a health profile for the context that can be output to one or more users or entities.

  • Patent number: 9692839
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for determining contexts and determining associated emotion profiles using information received from multiple emotion sensor enabled electronic devices, are disclosed. Contexts can be defined by a description of spatial and/or temporal components. Such contexts can be arbitrarily defined using semantically meaningful and absolute descriptions of times and locations. Emotion sensor data is associated with or includes context data that describes the circumstances under which the data was determined. The emotion sensor data can include emotion sensor readings that are implicit indications of an emotion for the context. The sensor data can also include user reported data with explicit descriptors of an emotion for the context. The emotion sensor data can be filtered by context data according a selected context. The filtered sensor data can then be analyzed to determine an emotion profile for the context that can be output to one or more users or entities.

  • Patent number: 9635438
Abstract: While a user views a primary content item (for example, a movie on a television screen), secondary content items are selected and presented to the user, either on the same screen or on a screen of the user's companion device. To choose selections that are relevant to the user's current interests, the selection process considers information beyond the realm of primary and secondary content. Over time, the selection process learns to make more relevant selections by monitoring selection choices made by other systems.

  • Patent number: 8838435
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for processing linguistic expressions (e.g., opinionated text documents). The linguistic expressions are processed by, firstly, detecting topics of interest discussed in the linguistic expressions. The sentiment, or sentiments, of an originator with respect to each of the topics detected in the linguistic expressions is then assessed. The originators are then grouped (or clustered) into one or more groups based on the similarities between the originators' respective sets of detected topics and corresponding sentiments. Semantic information is then associated with a given group. Finally, for a given member of a given group, a profile is created or updated. This profile comprises attributes that may be based on a degree of membership of the given member to the given group and the semantic information associated with the given group.

  • Patent number: 7725308
Abstract: A method, system, and tool product for creating a grammar for a natural language dialog system from a device description is provided. The system can include a device descriptor for identifying configuration, interface, object, and attribute information of the device, a speech grammar for identifying one or more rules generated from the device descriptor that are supported by the device, a speech recognition system for invoking rules of the speech grammar, and a processor for facilitating interoperability and development of distributed applications and providing delineated coverage of the one or more rules in view of the device descriptor.

  • Publication number: 20080114604
Abstract: A Higher Order Command Dialog System (HOCS) 250 for enabling voice control to a user interface is provided. The HOCS can record (302) a sequence of action steps a user performs while navigating a menu system to perform a task, prompt (304) a user to create an HOC for the task, and associate (306) the sequence of actions steps with a Higher Order Command (HOC) for performing the task. The HOC can include multi-modal inputs (120/260) and prompt a user for non-specific additional information (124) required in performing the task. The HOCS can store the HOC as a voice tag or a user-input command.

  • Publication number: 20080080678
Abstract: A method (10) and system (200) for personalized voice dialogue can include tracking (12) a user's use of voice dialogue states or transitions and progressively offering (16) a user more efficient voice dialogue transitions or states such as voice dialogue transition or states having fewer and fewer words. The tracking of dialog states or transitions can include tracking (14) of repeated use of the dialogue states or transitions. A user can be prompted to create a new transition or state. The prompting (18) and confirmation and verification (20) by the user of a new transition or state can be done using SCXML language. The method can further include instantiating (21) the new transition or state with voice tags or words and performing (22) speech recognition using the new transition or state. The method can again determine (23) if the new transition or state is a repeat transition or state.

  • Publication number: 20020156616
Abstract: A system, method and program product for creating a grammar 100 for a natural language dialog system from a domain model. A template grammar 104 with parameterized rules to be instantiated is opened. A new grammar 102, initially empty, is created. Instances of general purpose grammar rules are created 106 and tentatively added to the new grammar. The general purpose grammar rules instances are domain objects of the new grammar, each including one or more attributes. The developer is offered the option of deciding whether to include each object 112 and which attributes 118 are kept in the new grammar. An umbrella rule is created 108 for each broad category of queries among the general purpose grammar rules. Each umbrella rule includes a domain-object-independent non-terminal in a left-hand side and a set of expansions of the non-terminal in a right-hand side. Objects are selectively included 112 as domain objects in the new grammar.

  • Publication number: 20020116171
Abstract: A method, system and program product 100 usable by domain developers having any experience level in creating domain models. A representation of domain model knowledge is derived from a domain specification. The domain specification includes multiple potential domain objects, e.g., tables of APIs functional arguments, and each of the potential domain objects include one or more attributes. Potential domain objects are selected one at a time 102 from the specification and offered to the developer. The developer decides 104 whether or not to include the potential domain object in the domain model. If the developer decides to include the potential domain object 106, then the system provides a default name 108, i.e., the table name or argument name, and allows the developer to rename the selected domain object 110. Then, after having selected the object, potential attributes 112, e.g., table columns 1122, are selected from the object and offered to the developer 116.
