Patent number: 11919196Abstract: A manufacturing system includes a tape advancing through the manufacturing system and a station of the manufacturing system. The tape includes a first portion having grains of an inorganic material bound by an organic binder. The station of the manufacturing system receives the first portion of the tape and prepares the tape for sintering by chemically changing the organic binder and/or removing the organic binder from the first portion of the tape, leaving the grains of the inorganic material, to form a second portion of the tape and, at least in part, prepare the tape for sintering.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2023Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Corning IncorporatedInventors: Michael Edward Badding, William Joseph Bouton, Lanrik Wayne Kester, Thomas Dale Ketcham, Andrew Peter Kittleson, Dale Charles Marshall, Gary Edward Merz, Eric Lee Miller, Emmanuel Chima Okpara, Conor James Walsh

Patent number: 11185891Abstract: An approach is provided for performing sorting of physical mail items using Augmented Reality (A/R) glasses. A/R glasses acquire an image of a physical mail item to be sorted and generate image data that represents the image. A unique value is generated for the image, for example, by processing the image data for the image using one or more hash functions to generate a hash value. The hash value is used to obtain sorting information for the mail item from a mail item manager. The A/R glasses use the sorting information to assist the user in sorting the mail item by displaying the name of a sort location for the mail item, visually distinguishing the sort location from other sort locations, displaying information about the mail item, providing “out of view” assistance, etc. The A/R glasses may allow the user to override the sort location specified for the mail item and override information is sent to the mail item manager.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2019Date of Patent: November 30, 2021Assignee: RICOH COMPANY, LTD.Inventors: Steve Cousins, Nicole Blohm, Jonathan Garrett Adams, Dale Walsh

Patent number: 10748112Abstract: Tools (e.g., systems, apparatuses, methodologies, computer programs, etc.) including intelligent provisions enable a mail center to process packages at a mailcenter. Such processing may include extracting information from the package (via image processing), and then, when appropriate, assigning such package for pickup at a package storage locker. The package storage locker is preferably an intelligent locker that can be electronically controlled and can be integrated in the electronic mailcenter service system.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2016Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: RICOH COMPANY, LTD.Inventor: Dale Walsh
