  • Patent number: 4997302
Abstract: A liquid dispenser that is adapted for use with an applicator to apply liquid coatings. The dispenser has a first tubular housing in which is slidably received a second tubular housing. A liquid tight seal is provided between the two housings to define a liquid reservoir and the second housing has an outlet channel in fluid communication with the reservoir. The second housing has an inlet with a valve which allows fluid flow into the reservoir from an external source but prevents fluid flow from the reservoir when the external source is disconnected. A pressure differential is established between the external fluid source and the reservoir to fill the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4882978
Abstract: A pneumatic system (10) is shown in its most preferred use in a spray gun (12) to remotely control a pressure washer. The system (10) generally includes an integrally formed, homogenous squeeze box (40) including a location ear (52), a nose tube (46), a bellows (44), and a discharge tube (48). Bellows (44) is generally rectangular in cross section and includes a flat top (62) and bottom (63) and accordion sides (64) having generally longitudinal fold lines (72, 74, 76, 78, 80) which are generally parallel to the mold part line (93) and the tubes (46, 48) but include a 2.degree. draft for ease in mold removal. A valve and spring tube (42) is loosely received on the nose tube (46) for sealing a vent hole (60) provided therein when the bellows (44) is compressed by a trigger (30) of gun (12) and for biasing the trigger (30) to an uncompressed bellows condition.

  • Patent number: 4822194
Abstract: A head for the application of a fluid such as paint to a surface is shown in the most preferred form as a tee fitting which is pivotally mounted to a pad assembly. First and second hoses extend from nipples formed on the manifold base of the pad assembly to tee stems of a tee fitting for providing the dual functions of providing fluid communication therebetween and for placing a torsional spring action between the pad assembly and the applicator pole for placing uniform pressure on the pad to flatly contact the surface. The nipples are in fluid communication with a trough formed in the manifold base corresponding to a removed portion in the fluid impervious backing of the pad. The foam layer of the pad is free of direct fluid communication paths to the flocking such that fluid must flow into and through the foam for even distribution to the flocking in a wicking distribution by capillary action.

  • Patent number: 4695176
Abstract: A fountain applicator handle is disclosed for providing a continuous supply of a liquid coating to an applicator head for application onto a surface. The fountain applicator handle includes an elongated hollow reservoir with sliding displacement piston disposed therein. A valve body is attached thereto and adapted for attachment to a coating supply, with the valve body allowing the communication of the coating into the reservoir while preventing the outflow of the coating to the applicator, and controllably communicating the coating from the reservoir to the applicator.
