    Abstract: An image reader includes: a rectangular substrate; a photoelectric conversion element that is mounted on one surface of the substrate; a connector that is mounted on the other surface of the substrate so as to be closer to one end face of the substrate than a position on the substrate where the photoelectric conversion element is mounted, and is connected to a signal line; a support member; and a restricting member that is provided on the substrate so as to be closer to the one end face of the substrate in the longitudinal direction than the position where the substrate is supported by the support member, when another connector is fitted to at least the connector, the restricting member coming into contact with the one surface of the substrate and restricting the deformation of the substrate in a direction in which the another connector is fitted.
