Patent number: 8474854Abstract: A foldable stroller has a frame assembly with a frame fold joint and is reconfigurable between an in-use configuration and a folded configuration. A child support structure is repositionable between a usable state on the frame assembly in the in-use configuration and an unusable state not suitable to support a child on the frame assembly. An interlock mechanism cooperates with the child support structure and is movable between a locked state preventing the frame assembly from being folded from the in-use configuration to the folded configuration and an unlocked state permitting the frame assembly to be folded. With the frame assembly in the in-use configuration and the child support structure on the frame assembly in the usable state, the interlock mechanism is retained in the locked state. The interlock mechanism is unlocked when the child support structure is moved to the unusable state.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2009Date of Patent: July 2, 2013Assignee: Graco Children's Products Inc.Inventors: Roy L. Dean, Stephen Ahnert, Robert Pike, Damaso A. Lamos, Daniel Newhard, Todd Grintz, Branden McCorkel

Patent number: 7325871Abstract: An infant car seat includes a base including a belt path along which a vehicle belt can be secured to the base, and a carrier to detachably couple to the base. The carrier is positionable in a first, reclined position and a second, upright position. The belt path is fixed in location on the base such that the carrier can be positioned in either the first, reclined position or the second, upright position without adjustment of the vehicle belt relative to the base. This two-position infant carrier provides improved fit to child, The infant car seat also can include grips on the carrier of the infant car seat for improved carryability, grips on the base of the infant car seat for improved gripping of the vehicle seat and easier installation, and an adjustable height mechanism in the base for improved fit to vehicle seat.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2004Date of Patent: February 5, 2008Assignee: Graco Children's Products Inc.Inventors: Shiva M. Gangadharan, Jason A. Carpenter, Charles E. Crane, Damaso A. Lamos, Thomas M. Perrin

Publication number: 20060261651Abstract: A car seat has a support base configured to test on a dedicated seat of a vehicle when installed. The car seat also has a seat shell coupled to the support base that defines a seating surface of the car seat. The seating surface has a seat bottom portion that terminates at a front end of the seat shell. The seat shell is adjustable to a plurality of selectable seat recline orientations relative to the support base. A recline lever is mounted under the seat shell and is movable between a latch position and a release position. A handle on one end of the recline lever is positioned below and projects forward of the front end of the seat shell. The handle is movable upward to move the recline lever to the release position. A shroud projects forward from the front end of the seat shell and is positioned above and spaced from the handle. A top side of the shroud is positioned to act as a fixed bearing surface for grasping and moving the handle upward toward the shroud.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2006Publication date: November 23, 2006Applicant: Graco Children's Products Inc.Inventors: Patrick Nolan, Damaso Lamos, Patrick Laffan, Andrew Skrzypek, Brenda Robert
