Abstract: A method and an apparatus for creating an online library by establishing an account for a user on a first server computer, allocating storage space for the user on the first computer, the receiving from a second server computer a document to be stored in the first server computer in the user's allocated storage space. The library is made accessible to selected groups of others by the user based on access criteria. The library holds documents, which can be modified by another person who is authorized to so modify, whereupon the modifications may be transmitted to or approved by a group of users.
